What do you mean, "or how to get benched"?  All I heard was how Don Brown and the rest of the defense have had this game on their minds for a long time and how they all want to make a statement on Saturday.  I didn't hear anything about getting benched or benching.  Very weird title that makes me think you don't like Josh Metellus and you personally want to see him benched, to which I say for whom?  He's the best at his position on the roster by some distance.  The in-game reps we've seen from the other safeties are proof of that.

Josh is a good interview you can see that he has strong communication skills and confidence two things that are critical at the safety position. He looks like an early candidate for captain on next years team.

There sure is a reason.  The team feels Penn State tried to run up the score at the end of the game last year and that did NOT sit well.

But hey PSU - that strategy ALWAYS works well against Michigan.  Just ask the 1969 OSU team that had won 19 straight games going into the game against us one year after the infamous "I went for two cause I couldnt go for three" game in 68

You reap what you sow.

Because PSU talks a lot of shit, and they tried to score late in the game last year - late in the 4th quarter.  Also, that's really the only game where M's defense didn't look very good.  They got got on a couple of plays in the first half, which okay, it happens.  In the second half, when M's offense had completely threw up on itself (as it did so often last year), the D got tired (and probably a little demoralized because offense) and just got outplayed.  The whole thing just didn't sit well...

The D will be ready for this one.  Don Brown's angry mustache will be coming out. PSU has basically one dimension on offense this year and we have an offense that can keep our D off the field unlike last year. This should look a lot like 2016. 31-13 good guys.

Holy shit... he filled out.  Traps are jumping out.

Said it before and I'll say it again... Not sure why I didn't give him the respect he deserved early on.  Thought Bush was the big fish and Josh was coming along for the ride.  Dude fuckin hits harder and harder every year.  Gets better and better.

So glad he went Blue!

I have to wonder if he was deliberately chosen to speak before the PSU game.  The safeties were the biggest weakness on D last year and PSU picked on them heavily.

This year the safeties are solid and Moorehead and Hamilton are gone.  Now let's see what what PSU's mental giant coaching staff decides to attack.  Should be fun. :)

On the whole "screwing up the name" thing:

I think this is a byproduct of that maniacal focus football coaches often have.

When I was a manager there was me "Joel" and we also had a "Joe."  I handled Coach Carr's cords on game day my entire second year on the job but about 75% of the time Lloyd would call me "Joe." This went on into my third year too.

Finally one day I said "coach, it's actually 'Joel,' you know, with an 'L'."  He shot me a look and said "I know perfectly well what your name is!  This is Michigan!  You gotta EARN your 'L'!!"

There were a few MGoBloggers who harshly dogged Metellus because of his unfortunate drop of the potential INT against OSU last year, but thankfully the coaches don't take roster advice from the cheap seats.

Talk is cheap but this is good talk...

Please don't headbutt 84 out of bounds Josh.  Every season has its downs.  Let's make the ejection this seasons worst.

Feeling good before a game like this is a setup... but I feel good.  I am concerned that the loss last year will be a factor in the minds of the team.  Hopefully, that factor is to focus on execution.  I am confident with JM in the game.
