So was one of the coordinators I think. I wouldn't be suprised if others got the axe to. This has to be the last stand for Helton.

helton should have been given the lane kiffen memorial tarmac handshake a year ago.

seen that team get decidedly softer and softer since he took over.

a lot people in my office are USC fans so i end up talking with them about it.

don't think baxter or drevno are the issues.

bigger cultural issues that haven't been the same since pete carroll left.

gone through several coaches and two ADs since then too.

probably wishing they kept Coach O after LSU's performance today.

Drevno might not be the problem, but he’s part of it. Their O-line sucks, the o-line recruiting has sucked, and the fact that they can’t run the ball means that pass rushers can tee off on the QB.  Absolutely mind-blowing that USC (or Florida State for that matter) can’t put together even a decent offensive line for years.

what they need is a complete new staff from top to bottom and a major culture improvement.

coach o may not have been the best coach by resume at the time but the USC team sounded like they liked him asking the AD to hire him permanently.  he has built a good staff at LSU so one can only guess what he could have done if given the opportunity at USC.

Entitlement culture runs through the whole university. It’s gotta be tough to convince those kids to actually put in the effort required to be successful. It’s really impressive what Pete Carroll did with them. At the time I thought any schmuck could win at USC but so far several schmucks have failed. It’s unbelievable how much talent is wastes at USC.

I would be thrilled to have John Baxter back. He was statistically top special team coach. Don’t be fooled just by one MSU play. The special team improvement before and after his year was significant. Fans were excited to see the special team on the field.
