I don’t understand. Is this an official beta version you are testing? Anyway, I’ll wait and see if true. I’ll also chime in to say I am willing to pay a fee to ensure it has no ads.

They also killed the site by doing a fetch of everything, each time they wanted something.  That was one of the big reasons Brian killed them off before the site was rebuilt.  Not sure if he'll let this go, or not.  May depend on how it pulls data and provides ad revenue.

But like others are saying, I'd pay a fee to avoid ads...

I was anti-iphone for a long long time until I finally looked back and I'll be darned; I never once just upgraded an android. Every. Single. One. had a significant malfunction. Samsungs, HTCs, Motorolas; all had issues and most were before two years were up.

Since then, 2 iPhones and by far the best phones I've ever had. So that's like irrefutable proof or something

Switched from an iPhone to a Pixel 3, which is like iPhone Lite in terms of Android experience. Have loved it thus far and use everything Google's ecosystem has to offer and couldn't be happier. Everything works in seamless harmony and I'm not sure I'll ever go back to Crapple

He sure is!  Tim Cook is a helluva logistics and operations guy, but he's not an innovator.  He has no feel for what consumers don't know they want - which was Job's bread and butter (even though he never ate bread and butter).  All that cash is just collecting dust.  I mean, half of that cash could put an Apple TV in every household throughout the country.  Do that, and they'd mint their money for the next 5 years.

Or, you know, just pay off my mortgage and I'll buy my own Apple TV...

I haven't studied it, but I never understood what was / is unique about Apple TV.  What's the selling point vs the competition?  What is it particularly good at?  (I'm a very satisfied iphone and apple watch user, so this coming from an anti-apple person by any means).

I personally like the UI. I also like that you can have your TV screen saver cycle through your iPhotos. I also like that whenever you need to put in a password (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) you can pull from your Keychain on your phone and use your phone to type things into the TV. There are also apps like Zwift that I use for cycling that only exist on Apple TV. I also like that any movies or TV shows I want to actually purchase can be watched on the TV, iPad, Mac, or Phone either at home or with travel.

Whether it's worth the price premium? That's up to you. But that's why I did it.

When does IOS app come out? Once in a while I’d love to post a pic or two but you can’t with iPhone or iPad. I’m sure, in general, an IOS version would be much more useful/beneficial than an android app. Bummer.
