Irony regarding one of Mork’s Complaints

Submitted by bokee88 on September 15th, 2019 at 7:26 AM

This is from the Detroit News Niyo article:

... the Sun Devils’ Cam Phillips illegally hurdled over the Michigan State line on Coghlin’s second attempt, a 47-yarder that missed badly wide left and ended the game.

“That should be a penalty,” Dantonio grumbled later. “And it’s not reviewable.”

I wonder if he feels the long snapper getting bowled over should be reviewable as well.

He was on the benefitting end of a bad call against ASU earlier in the drive, so I'm not feeling any sympathy for him.

As as one of the B1G Network commentators said in the Final Drive, MSU had opportunities all game long to not even be in that position, and simply didn't take them.  They had 400 plus yards against ASU with practically nothing to show for it.  Empty yardage is probably one of the most embarrassing stats to have.  We had it with Rich Rod, and it looks impressive until you realize that the yardage never translated into points. Looks like Sparty is feeling that empty yardage feeling as well.

back at you M4H.  big football weekend for the 4 oldest boys, all recording victories and big plays, and one of the avatar twins got a buck on the youth hunt with me - we are eating venison tonight.

Mark Digiorno got a gift of a PI flag to even be in field goal position.  It's fun watching their football program implode.

Yeah, ours ain't exactly on the "up-swing"...

Though I'm always glad to see West Coast teams kick the shit out of the east, UM will be lucky to get 8-4 this year. So lets state the obvious...Harbaugh is a joke for what the University pays him. Year 5 and it looks like year 1. MSU may be worse off but UM is a 2nd Tier program and we've settled in mediocrity.

Shut

the

FUCK

UP!

Why are you obsessed with how much Harbaugh makes?  If Michigan has a coach who was “under market value” but with similar results you’d no doubt be here complaining that we’ll never be good without paying a coach the market value.  People like you make me wish the Internet was never created.

Bad calls happen, they're part of the game.

And again, if he wants to start opening that can of worms, let's talk about the Phantom PI call Sparty was gifted on their last drive.  That was as bogus a PI call as I've ever seen.

Dantonio needs to either get over it or retire.

If I was a Pitt fan, I'd want Narduzzi's head on a platter. That series from 1st and goal at the 1 was ridiculous. I understand the pass on 1st down trying to catch PSU by surprise, even though it didn't work. The next run got stuffed by the good play by the DB. Then another pass fails - so they kick it?

Why? What good does 3 points do you when you're down by 7? You're 1 yard away from the tying TD. Do you really think you're going to have a better opportunity to score than this in the brief time remaining?

Just plain dumb.

Narduzzi gave the stupidest explanation possible.

"You need two scores to win the football game, unless you guys are playing for overtime," Narduzzi said. "We're trying to win the football game."

If he hates overtime that much, no reason he couldn't go for two after a TD. It was quite the battle yesterday between Dantonio and his former assistant. Seeing who could make the dumber decisions, one going for OT, the other avoiding it.

Not just that there wasn’t PI, but the DB didn’t even lay a finger on the WR.  Count your blessings that you benefited from an even worse call mere seconds earlier and that’s the only reason you were able to be in a position to attempt a FG, so shut your fucking mouth

Thought the exact same thing. Sparty didn’t seem to care then. They shouldn’t care now. Commence wheels falling off  for Sparty nation in 3....2....1....
