Injury rumor to starting CB?
[EDIT-Seth: Bumping a comment from "GoBlueScrewOSU" below because Harbaugh addressed this at media days:
Harbaugh spoke to it directly today and just said [Ambry] Thomas is "working through something." But I had heard prior from multiple sources that one of the DBs had a pretty serious sickness that may cause him to miss some time and that has caused some rather serious weight loss. I'm reading between the lines but it sounded to me like there was a chance he still plays in week one but that it might take some time for him to get back to 100%. I haven't seen chatter of it being a season ending thing yet.
I'm not an insider but I've had mono and I don't think this is mono. The description above seems to be some kind of stomach issue. There is no more information about whether he'll be back for fall camp, or 100% at some point this year--if it's a stomach thing more likely than not Ambry and his doctors don't know either, so anyone telling you how bad or how long is just making stuff up. The one thing I do know is Daxton Hill isn't playing cornerback. He's been playing free safety (Kinnel's spot) and nickel safety (with Brad Hawkins). I'm guessing someone saw him practicing nickel drills and assumed it was cornerback.]
Yes I know it's a rumor but it's been gaining traction the last few days in the twitter world.
Apparently, one of our starting corners is out with an illness and may miss the season. I know this is a stupid thread to start and I don't normally post topics but I thought someone here could give us some feedback as to if it's even true or not since I haven't seen anything on here... umbig11??
Ambry Thomas ‘working thru something’ does not signify a season ending injury, at least I hope not.
Public Service Announcement-This is painful thread to read with a hangover.
Pretty sure this isn't about Lavert.
But it does seem the "potential" starter pool may take a huge hit depending on how long.
A season ending illness? Color me skeptical..
“One time I thought I had mono for an entire year. Turns out I was just really bored.”
One time I thought I had mono for an entire year, Turns out I was just Hanging out with Larry Appleton too much.
And if so, football isn't/shouldn't be towards the top of the priority list
If someone has mono, with associated splenomegaly (enlarged spleen), they are out for 6 months. That means potentially eligible for the National Championship game in January. Color me not skeptical, at all.
6 months?? Did you mean 6 weeks? Never heard of anyone being held out that long. 4-6 weeks or until spleen returns to normal which is usually around that time. I'd be more worried about something much more serious than mono if it's truly an illness holding a guy out for the season.
Ooh, hopefully not a mental health thing
Ooooo it was!
He strained his gluteus maximus while trying to poop in a cooler
....which made them realize he might be a "low grade imbecile" .
I've heard about the illness but was under the impression that he would be available by fall camp. Color me skeptical about him missing the entire season and I'm as pessimistic as they come.
if you're skeptical about your own pessimism, are you really a pessimist?
discuss
Mr. Xtramelanin (great name) brings up a great question on this drunken Friday evening.
Since he has no confidence in his skill at being negative, just B+.
The Empire State Building is neither an Empire, nor a State Building, discuss...(Linda Richman)
The Empire State Building is a building and is located in the Empire State (New York). So there, Dr. Genius.
Okay, but there are a lot of other buildings also in the Empire State. I think "An Empire State Building" would be more appropriate than "The . . ."
Maybe it's owner/designer/builder was a Buckeye?
Probably not out the entire season but it could keep him out a month or so. Little thin at corner to loose a starter could hurt
Please tell me this wasn't a rumor started by James Yoder and if it was, please then tell me no one is taking that douche seriously.

Didn't need those last two sentences.
No problem. All weight losses (and gains) are good.
FWIW...Dax has been moved to corner for this year, per the pay sites. This could be why. I can't want to see what he's got. GO BLUE!
Harbaugh said today he’s looking forward to seeing Hill at safety, I believe.
I saw the Dax CB rumors a few days ago.
Not accurate.
there it is. Umbig has spoken, let it be done.
Wow, great insider information. An average dude behind a keyboard could have never guessed that.
"average dude" is an oxymoron
Don Brown sees what you did there.
Or, in this case, a moran.
,,properly pronounced "marooon"
Unless you’re from Wichita, apparently
Sam said the other day that there are no plans to move him to corner for the year.
I think whatever site reported that might have had a reporter who mistook a nickel for a cornerback. Nickel is a safety position at Michigan. Dax and Brad Hawkins are playing it.
JKP running with the ones at CB during summer workouts and 7 on 7. Gray #2. Dax #2 Nickel and third Safety for now.
OP: Maybe look around a bit first and then tighten up the post's title. (Having "starting cornerback" is a bit click-baity.) This has been available for several hours:
Aside, Harbaugh qualified his remarks here, but I wish he hadn't said ... what he said:
See how the Michigan 24/7 site ran with that? Imagine what other outlets might do.
I feel:
Let them create fauxrage:
Last year, at this exact event, the fall of Urban Decay began because he thought winning was more important than misogyny ...meh, he a winner!
This year, Harbaugh wants to take the pressure off student-athletes so they are never in the position to feel the need to lie about something as important as mental heath just to not miss out on their NFL dream .....0-4,0-4,0-4,0-4,0-4,0-4,0-4 ......
Fetid?
Zach Shaw is a "content creator" for 24/7 whose job is to write a separate article for every line in a press conference that has 3 pre-written paragraphs summarizing the end of last season so the whole turd is longer than a paragraph. He also commonly uses terrible clickbait-y titles, probably because he gets paid by the click. Finally, he changed the title of that article a couple hours after it was released because he took a bunch of shit from the paying customers of TMI the second it went up.
Harbaugh is going to say things sometimes that will be interpreted in the worst way possible from the recreational outrage loudmouths in society. I interpreted his comments to basically say mental health issues are real and diagnosable, but if claiming mental health issues is an automatic way to get immediate eligibility it can (and probably will) be abused.
We all know the Justin Fields immediate eligibility was a huge pile of BS but nobody wanted to touch that one with a 10 ft pole, and we all know why.
The Justin Fields immediate eligibility ruling was the one of the biggest BS decisions by the NCAA in recent years and yes, we know why. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out for OSU especially if he doesn't live up to the expectations
Terry Bradshaw confirmed in a recent podcast that because Ambry had chicken pox, the Shingles is in him.
He should talk to his doctor or go to shinglesinfo.com.
But mostly talk to his doctor.
Everyone who had childhood chicken pox has the shingle virus with in them. Some individuals, as they age, their immune system will weaken and the shingle virus may become active.
Wait a minute, Terry Bradshaw has a podcast, where he talks about Michigan football?
I just assumed he used the Podcast as an opportunity to share his vast medical knowledge with the world.

Ohhhh boy injury rumors. a CB who may or may not be starting and may or may not be Ambry may or may not be out for a few weeks or maybe the season for what may or may not be an illness which may or may not cause Dax Hill to play CB this fall, that is, unless he doesn’t. Hang on to your butts, people, it’s getting to be football season again!
The discussion here reminds me of back in the day when I played high school football and our coaches were giant assholes to players who seemed to get “hurt” all the time. We as players called these guys “Jersey wearers.”
Our coaches would blatantly say to these players “you get another hairline fracture of your mangina?” Or “let me guess you have acute vaginitis”
