That sucks.

Kind of screws up my tailgate travel/meal-time plan and AA will be a nightmare of traffic again.

and in fucking November?

Give me a noon game, or a true night game, and stop with this in-between BULLSHIT!

Agree with the length of game. I know the announcers are mostly literate so they should be able to read Live Ads. Have the Arby's/Buick/State Farm score box. Split screen during huddle's with Payton Manning whoring himself out. Bottom scroll with Taco bell prices. God forbid a company can by a quarter that the talking heads can say every stoppage of play "the quarter is sponsored by Ford, with limited commercial interruption so you in the stands and teams don't lose game flow."

Your welcome Capitalism.

There will always be positives and negatives to a kickoff.  Personally, now this doesn't interfere with my daughters basketball game and there is plenty of time to deep fry some turkeys at the tailgate.  Go Blue!

I'm pleased.

I don't see the problem. You guys act like it's going to be 70 degrees at Noon or something. It's going to be cold at Noon. You're going to need a coat, hat and gloves. If the sun goes down and it dips into the 20s, it's still going to be cold and you're still going to need that same coat, hat and gloves. Starting at Noon isnt going to change Michigan climate.

On my weather app for today, it's saying 37 degrees at 1pm today, 35 at 5pm and 32 degrees at 9pm. 5 degrees, man. You'll live.

Weather is only a part of it.

MANY of us will be bringing kids/family to this game.    The 4pm start means more tailgating time (yay) but not always so good for wives and kids that have few options to warm up and/or be entertained compared to sept.

The 4pm start kills all other options for the day, no getting home with a bit of daylight for outdoor work.  Yet if you want to find decent parking you still have to get there early.

Many tailgates are centered around food/mealtime.  (again, family matters)  So the 4pm time means you either have to be up & running to do lunch and then keep snacking. The game is going on when people/kids are again hungry at supper time.  This also kills any after game supper plans.

The 4pm start also means a game ending way after supper so Ann Arbor becomes a traffic clusterfuck with everyone trying to leave town instead of staying for a while.

The PSU-beatdown afterglow was nice, and soothed some of the traffic frustration, not so sure mighty Indiana is going to have a similar feel.

Just seems like a perfect storm of less than ideal circumstances.

XM, I will be there with my wife, brother, and a good friend who hasn't been to a game yet this year.

The kids, all 6 and under, will not be attending, but will be with good babysitters.   Hopefully by next year my oldest will be able to attend a serious game.

Guess they want to ensure if it's another Snowbowl, they get the pre-Christmas version before The Game following Thanksgiving. A pre-Black Friday holiday special. How the Grinch stole both.

why wait till Friday to get your weather girl's forecast as good word has it that it will be in the lower 30s with snow showers and a brisk wind. Could be another snow-globe like we saw a few years ago. Sunset in A2 on Saturday is 5:11 PM.

The leagues/TV networks know who these teams are, for the most part, by the time October rolls around. Waiting a week or two before announcing in damn November is ridiculous.

As much as people like to complain,  I'm actually pretty excited! I can get up at a reasonable time, take in the campus beforehand, get my beer and brats on at a tailgate, watch the sunset from inside the stadium while we pound Indiana, get the night game experience in the 2nd half,  and get home without having to grab a hotel. Count me in!
