I had to try hard to think of the bad.

The only thing that I'm going to be pissed about going into the 2015 season is knowing that we won't get the opportunity to see Brian Kelly spontaneously combust inside of the Big House.

Utah on the road for game 1 could be one hell of a statement, though.

Dropping U-M will be ND's loss.  A U-M vs ND is game with national interest/exposure.  A ND vs UVA is a who cares game against an ACC team.  Dropping U-M and MSU off ND's schedule in favor of ACC teams will reduce their TV ratings and their value to NBC.  It willl also diminsih their SOS when it comes to determining the final four playoff team.

I am pretty sure ND will be ok.  Scheduling Texas and OhioSt as well as already playing Stanford and USC while rotating through Clemson, FSU, Louisville etc is a pretty good slate.  And MSU returns to the schedule as well.

It is unfortunate that Brady Hoke, lost his dream job.  By all accounts, Hoke was a decent human being, beloved by his players, but he just wasn't up to coaching a team at U-M's level.

Best of luck to Hoke in the future but even he would have to acknowledge that being replaced by Harbaugh was in the best interests of the program.

There's a lot to be concerned about for the 2015 season, even with Harbaugh as our head man.

1) First and foremost, no proven QB as of right now. Harbaugh's speciality is QBs, so if any one of our guys has any potential, which they all do, Harbaugh will maximize it. But unless we get solid QB play next year, it'll be another uphill battle.

2) Who's going to step up in the receiving corps? Again, not many proven commodities there right now. Also, will Butt be 100% healthy? Sure hope so.

3) Who are we going to lose to transfers? Ideally I'd like to think no one because of a hire of this magnitude, but it could happen. Harbaugh's intense style just may not mix with some guys we have on the roster. I'm not thinking of anyone in particular. But just speaking in general.

4) Can we get pressure on the QB? If not, we're in trouble.

5) How quickly can Harbaugh change the culture and mentality of the team? I have to believe he can do it quickly as he did with the 49ers, but it's a legitimate question.

6) The non-con schedule doesn't offer much leeway for a first year head coach. First game of the season is on the road in prime time at Utah, who will be a very tough out, and then Oregon State and BYU. Harbaugh will have his team ready to go every week, but we'll have to lean heavily on our defense and (hopefully) a good run game while Morris/Speight/Malzone get comfortable with the offense.

I believe Harbaugh can address all these questions and put them to bed, but until we get them fixed, we won't be serious contenders for much of anything important.

Hate to see ND leave the schedule. Truly a great rival and a national name that usually sets the tone for the rest of the year for both teams. I was really starting to hate Brian Kelly too.

Also I was really starting to hate playing rival teams (ND, MSU, OSU) because I always felt like we weren't prepared besides OSU in Hoke's first year. RichRod never really understood these and Hoke's teams had the passion but never the gameplan. I think JH will really start to turn the tide.

beat Utah for the season opener it is going to be a great year.  We'll be going into The Game undefeated and ranked in the top 10.  Maybe one loss, but not more.

That said, if Utah beats us badly the team will have an uphill climb.

As for the bad?  It's going to cost me a small fortune for tickets to The Game.  I won't miss Harbaugh's first as coach.
