I give you 2010 Michigan football in a nutshell

I'm not sure about best performance to date, but it was certainly better than the points scored by Illinois would make you think it was.  Illinois had 16 possessions (HUGE number of possessions) in regulation and only scored 5 TDs.   Their longest drive was 78 yards, and the next longest was 60.  The M offense put the defense on the spot with 5 turnovers (not to mention the poor kick coverage), and the defense responded.

4 drives starting in Michigan territory yielded only 18 points.  4 more drives started outside the Illinois 40, and those yielded only 14 points.   The 8 possessions starting inside the Illinois 40 yielded only 13 points.  Contrast that with Michigan scoring 42 points on their 15 drives starting inside the Michigan 40.

Not to mention the D gave the offense a chance to win in regulation by forcing the Illinois punt from their own 27 with nearly a minute to play.  And they allowed only one Illinois drive in excess of 28 yards in the second half.

Well I am not in the "keep Gerg another year" crowd," however I do feel sorta bad for him. You can tell RR is beside himself and is almost desensitized to the horrible Defense. Gerg is fighting for his professional career and all he can do is pick a booger.

The look of sheer, unadulterated anger on RR's face is scary. The defeated look on Gergs face is sad in a way. I have never heard anything negative about him as a man. I feel sorry for him as a person. I do not feel sorry for him as a DC.

The pic is funny, but Gerg looks so stressed out and fatigued lately, I feel for him. I've never been in a position where I'm failing badly at my job, the entire nation knows and mocks me for it, and I know that I will almost certainly be jobless at the end of the year, but I can imagine it's pretty tough. He seems like a good guy to me, and no one wants that D to be better more than he does.

He thought that GERG dealt with the booger as well as anyone has ever dealt with a booger.  He was quick, discrete, and efficient.  One motion, and it was GONE.  He's really excited to see how his skills develop over the next few years; he could really be something special.

I like how many ballboys are walking around there, all wearing the same thing.  They're like a bunch of maize-and-blue Christmas elves.

I know we won and he's cleaning a booger, but watching these looping gifs is pulling at my heartstrings. Poor GERG. I'm sure he meant well, but I feel like everything was stacked against him.

I will miss his standout sideline fashion and coiffure.

Poor lil Rich Rod gets the benefit of the doubt by having, I MEAN HAVING to play all these freshmen and sophomores on defense....but GERG doesn't?

I detect more than a little of the dichotomy...nay, HYPOCRISY in the tone of Michigan fans here.

When you are on the verge of having to blow out your second defensive coordinator in three years...you have issues, not them.

...or RCMB?  WTF? How about we show some class regarding our coaches. Until GERG is let go (if he's let go), he's a Michigan football coach.

I do not like this trend. I'd prefer we stayed a little more classy, MGoBlog.
