I Don't Care What They Say, I Can't Wait Til Kickoff

Submitted by Happy Jack on

We've heard all the talk, the odds, the injuries, the articles....everything.  All signs point towards misery yet again. They're laughing at us from East Lansing to Columbus, and I haven't seen Michigan beat Ohio State since I took the SAT's.  It is, most certainly, far from the golden age of Michigan athletics.

With all that said I just wanted to remind everybody here that the F***ING GAME IS TOMORROW AFTERNOON.  All i've heard from our fans to the media this week is how bad things are, and yes, they are bad.  But I've waited 365 days for another shot at the Buckeyes and I'll be damned if anybody can rain on that parade!!!  The best wins in the rivalry often come from the bleakest odds.  Do you think anyone in 69 was expecting first year coach Glenn E Schembechler to take out the defending champion Buckeyes and winners of 22 straight.  Far from it, which is what makes it one of the greatest wins in Michigan history.

Although it's unlikely, I'll be watching tomorrows game with that in mind.  That you never know when that defining win will come.  In the great history of this rivalry, it would be most appropriate and fitting for Michigan to emerge victorious.

And if they don't, I'll be telling myself as I have for what feels like an eternity- as I'm watching the seconds wind off the clock and my family is begging me to just turn it off- that staying til the end even in defeat- that when it comes, there will be no doubt that we will have earned that victory as a family of players, fans, students and friends, through our unending support of this University- and it will never taste sweeter.

But by God, I hope that day is tomorrow.

I'm totally with ya - we only need to beat them once.  OSU Saturday always felt like Christmas morning and despite the point spread and every prediction going against us, I'm still pumped.

I'm also thinking back to what felt like an eternity between seasons this year and how fast this year has gone.  I can't believe we're on game 12 already.  I'll be cheering on Michigan hoping for the upset tomorrow, and no matter what happens, I'll be thankful that I have one more game to look forward to this season.

From a spartan, here's to M kicking the crap out of OSU and shutting TP's mouth.

I'm tired of OSU.  The B10 is tired of OSU.  Tomorrow, we are all wolverines.

I don't say it often, and it's strange to type, but - Go blue!

........for UM as hard as I've rooted for the team all year. One, to shut up the Buckeye fans I work with, and Two, to look forward to the bowl game, no matter who it's against.

I don't care what our record is, how good they supposedly are, and by how much they're favored. This is still The Game.

With that said, I'm hoping Shoelace has a classic performance in store because that's probably what it's going to take. If I were a betting man, I'd take Michigan in this one because there is no way we are 16 point dogs (or whatever the spread is).

Go blue!
