how good are your seats

Submitted by foreverbluemaize on
I was just wondering what seats you got. I was going to go the WMU game but at 7:30 and 2 seconds the best seats I could get were on row 73. I ended up getting tickets to EMU row 31.

get anything closer than row 50! I am used to getting the order almost finished and then getting kicked out of the system, so I had to just take it. I got tickets for all the games they sold, and I am hoping to get some UM vs. ND tickets from a friend. I guess 5 out of 12 games will have to do this year. I wish they would sell more to the general public once in a while... I did, however, cement a spot for the first game! I can't wait until September!!! I know this kid from WMU threw for almost 4,000 yards last year and this will be a good test for our secondary. They return only 3 guys on a defense that was extremely porous last year, and I figure UM will have to score about 28 points to win. With Tate on the field, that should be no problem. Then we smack down the immaculate front butt, EMU, & IU! 4-0 baby, here we come! Go Blue!

Row 33, in Section 25, right next to the student section for the opener. I was waiting at 8:30, and that's the best I could come up with. Not too shabby, and being next to the kids will make me feel like I'm actually at a game instead of a nursing home.

but that section is notorious for being one of the quietest in the stadium. The difference between 26 and 25-22 is more than night and day; I am having difficulty coming up with a proper metaphor to truly describe it. Do you play video games? It's like playing Pong vs playing Crysis. It's like hallway-mini-hockey vs the NHL. It's like USC vs my high school football team (go Muskrats?). Or maybe the powder-puff team, except they may have been better. They (and the sections following, up until the end of the old press box) are the reason the wave can be difficult to start from section 29.

Seems like I only post about the Tigers and to defend quiet fans, but here it goes again. Get over it with sections 22-25. Everyone enjoys games in their own way, deal with it and get over yourself.

I don't recall attacking them in my post. Sure I pointed out differences, but at no point did I explicitly say that it was bad. Different people enjoy the game in different ways. Do I prefer people to make noise? Sure, but I'm not going to get on them for not doing so. Unless I'm at Yost, yelling "Stand up, old people" but that's clearly a different matter entirely. Who's on the high horse?

I'll admit I am probably overly sensitive on the issue, but I definitely read all of your comparisons as not exactly putting a positive light on those sections. Anyway, I don't mean to be on a high horse or something, but I've sat in section 22 for 20 years and I don't consider myself any less of a fan. I have felt attacked here before on this issue, so I may have been reading too much into it. I apologize if that's the case.

That's partly my fault too - the three items I chose are also greats in their own right. Pong is like the great-granddaddy of video games and deserves/has earned its respect and hallway-mini-hockey is just downright fun. I guess my HS football team wasn't that great. We're still buddies as long as you hurrah for the yellow & blue. :)

Regardless of the section's reputation, I'm a loud fan and I have no problem with confrontation. It's the first game of the year and the debut of the chosen one they call Forcier, I would rather die than sit there and be silent, even if it comes to fisticuffs.

4 season tickets, Section 7 Row 45. I bought them off of an elderly lady who's husband died (he was the fan) back a few years ago when they allowed the transfer of tickets with a donation to the school.

Any idea if they're ever going to allow that type of transfer again? I'm hoping that when the stadium renovations are done, they'll allow it again. My Uncle has 2 tickets right next to my mom's 2 tickets (both alums) and he's moving to South Carolina in a few years. I'm hoping to buy them from him. It's been a while since I sat in their seats but I believe that they're section 17 row 35 (corner of the endzone). As for me, this is my first year without student tickets. But my friend's brother is in the band so I might just buy his entire package. Of course, if I eventually get a job that's too far away all this is for naught... (which is why I'm looking at Chicago so hard).

Just get on craigslist a few days before the game and there will be plenty of good tickets for about half the price...sometimes less. As long as you don't mind meeting strangers in parking lots. Last year I bought two tickets for the Utah game at full price through the school...paid almost $150 I think, and the seats sucked. A couple weeks later I hopped on craigslist and bought two tickets for the Wisconsin game from a guy in Toledo for $60, row 18 IIRC, corner of the endzone.

Sec 5 Row 39 for the WMU vs Michigan game. Pretty happy with these. I am pretty happy with these as I got them 2.5 hours after tickets went on sale. I tried earlier for tickets to this game and the best I got was row 78

and my name just came up this year. I was worried that was a bad sign that not as many people were buying tickets this year. Apparently not; that's good to know.

I've been to the game many times here in Columbus, but never to one in Ann Arbor. I know tickets get ridiculously expensive here in Columbus, but how much do average tickets for for in AA? Also, how hard is it to find tickets? I'm going to try my best to get up to AA this year as Im expecting a mediocre season and less demand than will be here in a few years once the program is reestablished... Any thoughts on best way to get tickets other than craigslist, online, etc? (PS, not trying to hi-jack the thread but dont have enough points to start my own post) Will

What do you got against the internets? Ebay, stubhub, etc. is probably where you'll find the best prices if you don't want to use craigslist. If you really hate your computer that much then call a broker and get raped or scalp.

My dad has season tix. We got Section 12(South Endzone) Row 45 and seats 11 and 12. I love these seats. We are right in line with the middle of the field goal posts, and it is a perfect view.

My season tickets are at row 74 in the end zone. I don't complain. When you walk into the stadium, my seats are right there - you don't have to walk down and since my seats are on the end, you don't have to worry about people next to you too much.

Let's hope all the fuss over seats versus the regional schools will be for naught, as a sizable halftime lead will empty some lower seats, leaving room for the nosebleeders to meander downward. I've spent a lifetime beginning games in my season tickets in row 80, only to snake my way down to the bottom 10 rows by the end of blowouts. I practically sat on the team bench during the 4th quarter of the 2007 Minnesota game.

My friend and I moved down to the front row for every home game this year after the Wisconsin one...hoping to be up front when the team celebrated in front of the student section and sings The Victors after a win. Too bad that never happened. However, having the team come and celebrate right in front of the student section is a great new tradition Rodriguez has going, reminds me of when i played in HS.

Does anybody know what to expect when they widen the aisles, add hand rails, etc. to our exising seats. If you have aisle seats, will they remain?

a2bluefan

June 25th, 2009 at 11:17 AM ^

I, too, have aisle seats... A couple years ago before they started the renovations, they were soliciting comments from the public. I sent in an email saying I'd be royally pissed ('cept I was more polite than that) if the installation of hand rails took away my aisle seats. Of course, I am no one and who knows if it was even read.... but seeing your post makes me think/hope that I was not alone in sending in such a comment.

We used to be able to sell our tickets then they started requiring ID's to get in... I remember getting a whole semester's worth of work study at the CCRB desk for my OSU tickets lmao

I have tickets in section 5, does anyone know what row this section begins at. The front of this section does not go all the way down to the field, it is inside of section 6. Thanks for your help

I'm looking for anyone who has away game tickets to the Wisconsin game for sale. I keep looking on the alumni website to see if there are going to be any offered through the alumni association, but I haven't seen anything. Can anyone help me out?
