Because the overlords barely know baseball is a thing and therefore a banner with only one of three imaged persons still in school at UM is vastly more betterer.
The fact this blog didn't even attempt a CWS Final preview was alarming. Not even "Here are the lineups", or "Here are some raw stats for the team we're playing that I found via Google even though I don't know what they mean because I've never even touched a baseball glove". Nothing. Very disappointing.
I was checking back all day yesterday expecting to see a Vanderbilt preview. I was really surprised there wasn’t one. Still half expecting something to get posted today...

I wrote for the sports section of the Michigan Daily my freshman year (Rich Eisen and Adam Schefter were there along with a few other names you see in print here and there.) I realized pretty quickly that I wasn't cut out to be a sports reporter because all of the sports guys were huge baseball fans as well. I did write one article on the baseball team despite knowing nothing.
Fun watching the CWS though.
Not expecting the web overlords to be fluent in every Maize and Blue sport but I would think the 4 major revenue sports in this country would be reasonable. At least bring in a expert guest columnist or something.

I'm still holding out hope there will be some sort of preview to tell me whether this Rocker guy is actually legit. Looking at his stats, he seems to be about as a good as Criswell so I don't know why the announcers yesterday were raving about him.
Might have something to do with striking out 19 while throwing a no hitter in the Super Regional

I would think 2 would be appropriate. One to commemorate them even making the CWS for the first time since 1984 and another if they win it all for the first time since 1962.

When the site was “upgraded” there were three sports featured: Football, MBB and Hockey. All 3 of those teams failed to win a championship the ensuing season.
