How DEATHSTORM affects you and Signing Day
I work at a software company in A2 and they just announced that because of impending DEATHSTORM 2011, our office will be shut down tomorrow. This means I get to roll out of bed, curl up on the couch, flip on ESPNU and "work from home" for the day.
Anyone else's life get infinitely better because of the storm?

I want a snow day!! Why is our school the only school that doesn't have snow days!?!? I heard a rumor about some student who sued the university a while ago but I don't know if thats true... is it?

I have to work due to the snow, i would have to work anyways but if there was no snow coming i would be inside and could have the mgoblog updates, but since i will be outside i will have to settle on cell phone updates.

Unfortunately for me hospitals don't close so I'll be working all day tomorrow. If you're in Akron drive safe so I don't see you. (still nothing compared to the lake effect Erie snow)

I have been a member for a while but usually observe the board. I must say though I had an exam scheduled for tomorrow that would have caused me to miss several key hours of signing day coverage. My professor must secretly also not want to miss signing day because she rescheduled my exam for Friday. Thank you Snowmaggedon 2011. Now I can watch as we get our last 6 commits for this class and spent 10 hours on here with you guys.

I've got a quiz in Bacon's class tomorrow. Short of the entire University closing down, we will be taking it, because that's John Bacon. Although I'm sure if hell DOES freeze over and they close the whole school down that he will wish us a Happy Signing Day.

This is perfect. You need to make fun of Bacon for me. Ask him why he has wheels on his hockey bag. Its kind of an inside joke with him, but hockey players are not supposed to wheel their bags around, they are supposed to carry them. He won't get mad, it will be a good laugh.

I'll be home on the computer in the basement with BTN on the tele.
I have to stop at the store and stock up on crucial supplies: V8, celery stalks, worchteshire sauce, hot sauce, and some Absolut.

I feel like Cameron in Ferris Bueller. I haven't seen anything good today. I grew up in Michigan, went to Michigan, moved to Cincinnati. For the past three days, I'll I've dealt with is seeing people's comments and remarks about snow days, working from home, grocery stores, and OMG CHERSNOWBYL!! All I get is an inch of rain. Thirty-three degree rain. I lived in Michigan for 23 years. Do you know how many "Blizzard Warnings" I remember? NONE. Thanks for nothing, Ohio. You are indeed the worst state ever. I'm working from home tomorrow.

at noon they closed school for the rest of the day today, as well as for all of tomorrow, so I will be enjoying ESPNU all day.

They're considering closing the courts in downtown Detroit but just got word that all hearing were cancelled so that likely puts me home for the day.

The panic in my office ensued yesterday. people calling of for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, WAIT, WTF people, it will melt, the sun will rise again, the winds will shift from the south, spring is around the corner. Moral of my story, I dislike ppl that overreact to any situation.
Panic only makes everything a bigger mess!

As long as the power stays on this storm is wonderful. Postponed a paper till next week and now recruiting all day long.

im already starting to think the storm was over hyped WAY to much, they go from like 45 feet to 7-12 inches in a day
February 1st, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
You're not the only one. I'm still guessing we're getting 8-12" when it's all said and done. A lot less than the 14-23" that the Weather Channel was saying this time last night.
This just goes to show that when snow is coming, you listen to the female weather reporter. She's not going to bullshit you about how many inches you're getting.
