Higdon: first 200-yard game by a RB in a decade
Karan Higdon (now from Utica, MI) had a historic day today.
200 yards.
The last Wolverine back to have a 200 yard game was.............the current IU RBs coach.
October 6, 2007 against EMU. Hart had a 215 yard game on the day he became Michigan's all-time leading rusher.

He played great!
October 14th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
What's even more encouraging is that a lot of the yards were of his own making. The OT touchdown was 100% Higdon.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:52 PM ^
They were. And may I suggest you change your avatar to the classic, creepy Rasputin photo?
October 14th, 2017 at 5:04 PM ^
Encouraging?! I mean I get your point...I'd rather there be ginormous holes created by the Oline to run through myself! (Yes that is hard when your passing game is non-existent and there's 10 in the box flowing downhill)
October 14th, 2017 at 6:23 PM ^
There WERE quite a few holes today.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:20 PM ^
Within about 3/4 of a second I went from saying "the game is over we lost!" To "the game is over we won!"
October 14th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
You might want to change the title to First 200-Yd game by a Michigan RB
October 14th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
I think people get the picture.....

Don't let haters block your shine!!
October 14th, 2017 at 7:51 PM ^
I wasn’t hating, I was trying to help him out.
October 14th, 2017 at 9:28 PM ^
I find you to be like nails on a chalkboard...but I definitely got the picture.

Giving you shit is some sort of weird pass-time for some of the other members. But I for one agree with MichiganMan14. And I would I would like to thank you for your part in bringing Jim Harbaugh home. If it wasn't for you bringing down Dave Brandon, there is no chance that JH would've come home. So thank you WD!

Nice job. Thank you Florida Speed!

Great game for Higdon.
Hart for RB coach
October 14th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
Had 3 straight 200 he games one year.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
100, not 200
October 14th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
Only one man has had 200-yard rushing games since 2007. Denard had 5.
Higdon is our first 200-yard rusher overall since Denard at Purdue in 2012.

Awesome! Utica?
October 14th, 2017 at 5:00 PM ^
When he came here in 2015, his family moved up to Michigan from Florida.
They picked little ol Utica, MI. It's a pretty big deal. His younger brother stars for Utica HS and is gonna play college ball.
Utica is the only school in the UCS district to never produce a Michigan Football player. So it's just cool that he's from around here. I think that's the coolest thing ever.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:35 PM ^
That's a bit of a stretch.
He went to high school in Sarasota, FL and then moved to Ann Arbor. Just because someone's parents moved, doesn't make their 20 year old son "from" that city.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:46 PM ^
He comes to Utica during the summer.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:51 PM ^
to get it.

JUST LET US HAVE THIS ONE THING
October 14th, 2017 at 7:05 PM ^
You're stuck with buckeye Craig Krenzel being the most famous player from there.
That's ok, the most famous player from where I'm from is Spartan Chris Morris.
October 14th, 2017 at 7:07 PM ^
He's not even from Utica and didn't go to Utica.
He went to Ford II which is in Sterling Heights.
October 14th, 2017 at 7:39 PM ^
My bad, my bad
October 14th, 2017 at 9:33 PM ^
No. He gets Craig Krenzel and he will like it.

I have Ricky Leach as an alum from my school. Terry Crews, Mark Ingram and (unfortunately) Charlie Bell as well. Also spent a year at the high school Jim Abbott attended.
October 14th, 2017 at 9:34 PM ^
Shaq Mason of Georgia Tech and New England Patriots fame and Dan Uggla of most errors in an All Star inning all time fame went to my high school.

Utica High class of 1995 here. I had no idea Higdon was from the U (kind of). Our football team was perennially terrible.

Ran like a dude.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
Even more amazing that he did it in a game where the passing game was as threatening as a blind kitten.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:12 PM ^
This analogy is an insult to blind kittens the world over.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:19 PM ^
Blind kittens have sharp claws and are very threatning.
October 14th, 2017 at 6:38 PM ^
Blind kittens throw up greasy hairballs in the hallway in the middle of the night and you slip on it after you take a piss and fracture your skull, sustaining a deep cerebral hematoma that kills you before you regain consciousness.
October 14th, 2017 at 6:45 PM ^
Then again, I also hate cats.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
Kept improving as the game progressed, which is what the best backs do. In OT, when banged up and tired, he showed the awareness great backs possess when the play blew up in his face, he bought time and made decisions, and then flew into the endzone. Higdon is only a sophomore. If he remains healthy I can see amazing production by this kid provided the coaches let him carry enough per game.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:59 PM ^
Junior. He played two years ago.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:00 PM ^
Junior*, i believe.
October 14th, 2017 at 5:09 PM ^
Admit. I'd thought so but looked it up and the official roster had him listed as a sophomore. The thing I failed to notice was the roster was 2016's.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
Thanks Brady.
Thanks Manball.
Unexcusable that we haven't been able to run for 200 for that long.
October 14th, 2017 at 4:55 PM ^
the stat is for single RB w 200....we have run for 200 yards on many, many occasion the last 10 years
October 14th, 2017 at 5:05 PM ^
I wanted to edit it to read "inexcusable" and to clarify to read "something something something individual running back something something."
Now go have a beer and relax, K?
