Hello: Jack Tuttle (QB transfer from Indiana)

Welp, I would hardly call this an impressive pickup (only threw 12 passes this year), but if nothing else he ads some experience to the QB room.  Depending on if he used a redshirt early in his career, he's got one or two years of eligibility.

Alan Bowman replacement.  Probably 3rd string behind Warren would be my guess.  Likely transferring in for school / experience / Harbaugh exposure but pure speculation.  Gives you someone who's actually played in case of an injury disaster.

All right on the money. He will be third string and if a situation ever arises we get that far down the depth chart it shouldn’t be a disaster as it usually would be for any team. He can learn from Harbaugh and maybe he wants to coach someday while continuing his education at UM. Win for everyone

I had a friend recently transfer to an SEC school to be a third string QB because he wanted to eventually become a coach/do a Grad Assistant program. He actually ended up getting time this year due to injuries, but was never in the school's long term plans - he could have transferred down and been a starter at a high-level FCS or even low low G5 school, but opted for his future over playing time.

I would imagine this situation is similar to that.

Fairly highly rated in high school. Spent one year at Utah, then transferred to IU partly for academics. Strong academics. In business masters program. My guess is that he was guaranteed a spot in our business school. Was injured in first game of season last year and likely has two years remaining. All academic Big Ten player.

May have wanted to experience our coaching, etc.

Good pick up.

Probably the Bowman replacement. I was hoping we would pick up a QB with more experience, but it seems like Davis Warren is a good QB2.

If the NFL isn't an option for a QB, why not go another year at a school like Michigan? Great education, continued great coaching, and a great opportunity. Seems like he's a leader, and continued leadership is what we need. Staying grounded and disciplined can lead programs to success.

Could be going to some school like Iowa....
