RT @TomVH: With Henry Poggi Michigan has 16 4-stars commits for 2013. One more than '11 & 12 combined.
I can see myself making a lot more trips to the Big House over the next few years, to watch these kids play. Wish I still lived in Ann Arbor.
Nice way to start off a week.
Recruiting is not a small portion of the overall picture.
You won't get there on recruiting alone, but there are no National Champions that did not recruit extremely well.
I love having great news right when I wake up.
I don't know how Rivals calculates its points for team rankings, but with the addition of Poggi, Michigan is at 2,569 points for the 2013 class. For comparison, the only 2012 class to exceed that total was Alabama, with 2,621 points. Assuming MOAR commits means MOAR points, we could blow completely past that number before the summer is ended. Even if that assumption is wrong (it probably is), it's still our best class ever, before the summer has even started.
I don't think there are enough platitudes in existence to give Hoke and Co. the credit they deserve for the job they've done, both coaching and recruiting, in under 18 months.
Great news. Poggi is a big commitment.
Welcome to Michigan, Henry. Look forward to seeing you in the Big House.
This Monday just got much less shitty.
I'm shocked.
Very excited about Mr. Poggi. I see him as RVB but faster and better. The fact that we finally won a high profile recruiting face off against another blue chip team makes this particularly sweet.
However, after the high quality O lines we have recruited last year and this, with probably only Stanford even in the conversation in terms of best, my mind will be boggled if we cannot translate that into a 5 star or high 4 star RB joining this class.
What I envision in two years for UM is a replica of Wisconsin's explosive offense, except with even better talent, better maulers, a better QB, and a more highly rated RB pounding the gaps for 7 yards a pop. Wisconsin 2.0.
They'll consume so much clock on offense, with huge, sustained drives, that in two years Mr. Poggi, Mr. Taco, Peewee Pipkins, Mssrs. Wormley and Mcray and Thomas, Bolden, Ross, Strobel, etc., will all enjoy epic defensive numbers, giving up an average of under 14 points a game.
Can't wait.
Don't forget about one Mr. Smith. He was some great tools to work with and if five of the nine O-Linemen over the last to cycles work out you or I (well maybe you) might be able to gain 1,000 yards.
This all happened so fast. I want to make sure we express some love for Mr. Hurst as well.
It's great . . . to be . . . a Michigan Wolverine!! (Repeat. Dance around a little bit.)
BABY!!! Up yours Saban! Anybody have the video of him freaking out on the sidelines during the SEC championship game? Lol
