Hats off to Northwestern!

Hosed repeatedly by the refs, even tho they didn't win provided a maximum exposure job on Gonzaga. Good look for the B1G! (But next time - WIN THE DAMNED GAME!!)

look like a one seed in either of their two games. Maybe a 3, and Wisconsin probably a 5. Underseeding Big Ten teams hurts the higher seeds who have to play them, too. I'd be pissed if I were a Villanova fan...heck, if I were a Louisville fan. But, as one of the players said, if you're going to win the tourney, you're going to have to beat some good teams. Early or late, it shouldn't matter. Just win.

I'd have rooted for NW if Mike Wilbon wasnt a fan. It usually doesn't take more than a minute of him to remind me why I stopped watching PTI. Kornheiser is pretty good, too bad Wilbon can't just retire or die or something.

He deserves sainthood for putting up with Wilbon all these years. Other than his stint on MNF, I don't have much of a negative view on him.

I watch a bit of PTI this week, enough to see Wilbon applauding Carmello Anthony for his head to toe fur outfit and how he does the same and he likes to drive the PETA folks nuts. I was thinking, if I had the choice of having to run over a squirl or Wilbon I'd choose Wilbon then I'd back up to make sure I finished the job.

Daaammmnnnn!!!

I checked the score at hafltime, 38-20, and figured the route was on.  So I let the kid watch one of the Ice Age movies.  I missed a helluva game, it seems.  Too bad NW lost, would have been great to see them win again!

Credit to NW for coming back. Major achievement after that first half, when they truly didn't look like they  belonged on/in the same court/league/sport/planet as Gonzaga.

NCAA needs to use cameras on the baskets to avoid these kind of no calls. Allow refs to check video at next time out, just like 3's. Refs gave 4 points to Gonzaga at critical moment. NW had come back to within 3. Unforgivable!

Just read in the Chicago Trib that Gonzaga had 36 free throw attempts, Northwestern had 13... So it probably wasn't just the blown goal tending call that set coach Collins off...

The worst part of that miss on the goaltending by the refs is all a player has to do is touch the net and its goaltending. They dont have to catch a hand going all the way through the rim where angle and speed of the game could distort perception. The net moves upward and goaltending. It was an incredibly easy call to make even at speed. The fact that all the refs missed it is why we get all the conspiracy theories about the NCAA wanting certain teams to win or certain refs being biased or LV being involved.

Officiating has been hot garbage this post season.  As a high school official myself the calls they are missing or not calling are not difficult.  Something is going on.
