Hat Eating Watch - April 2013
Maurice Ways is currently on Michigan's campus, and as noted in Thursday Recruiting, Brian has once again offered to eat his hat in defying the possibility of an incredulous event. That event now being the believed forthcoming commitment of one Mr. Ways.
Sure this thread is likely to be short-lived, given his stated preference for Michigan. Add in the recent visit to MSU, with its gray concrete and dull green stadium, Clockwork Orange scoreboards, and I'm-so-repulsed-I'm-reminded-why-I-so-love-Michigan effect on recruits, and a commitment is likely in the offing. But damn it there's a chance. Maybe Ways waits until tomorrow. Maybe Hand, Peppers, McDowell, Marshall, Scott et al are calling so much he can't get through. Maybe Hoke refuses to take any commitments today, because Hoke is an everyman, and like us he's wondered what a man consuming his own hat would look like. Also interesting: what does the hat look like?
Maybe we get to see this idiom played out, just once in our lifetimes. It's nearly 5:00 and the work day over. Dinner awaits.
It'll probably happen like this.
Spanish Homer sounds really, really weird.
Can someone refresh my memory on what prompted the hat eating comment before?
Wasn't it a lemon?
This is an easy way out.....unless Brian eats the cat also. THAT would impress me.
Something about eating a lemon if Yuri Wright picks Colorado (I think) over Michigan. Michigan stopped recruiting him beacuse of his charatcer and I think he went to Colorado. Brian called off the lemon eating beacuse Michigan stopped recruiting him, which is some bull shit. Brian owes us a video of lemon eating.
Yuri Wright went to Colorado?!? Wow, what a waste of football talent.
Can someone explain the "Clockwork Orange scoreboard" comment in the OP's post?
I think it should be this hat. It's funny because it's bigger than a normal hat.
Brian, we'll take it easy on you -- just post a video of you eating the hat tomorrow, and we won't expect any other content. You'll have a long weekend!
Eating hat and securing recruits: how they enter is never as important as how they leave and the legacy that remains
I was going to try and help Brian out here, but I was disappointed in the lack of hat recipes online. Best I could find was from the Owosso Argus in 1952(!): http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1978&dat=19520709&id=JmkiAAAAIBAJ&sjid=jqoFAAAAIBAJ&pg=2985,4854037
If anyone else with superior googling skills can find any better hat recipes feel free to pass them on.
He just committed.
It was a great idea while it lasted.
FREE HAT!
He committed last night and Brian has the write-up mostly done but didn't want to post it last night at 10 pm. So it'll go at 10 this morning. No hats eaten.
