Supposedly for health reasons, but then coaching that defense wasn't making anyone feel better.

Does Illinois care at all about football or even athletics in general? Their football program has been a tire fire and just when you thought mayb they find the guy with Zook they say fuck you to the fan base and fire him. History full of failure after failure with one good season sprinkled in every 20 years. Their bball program has been a disaster even since they lost bill freakin self. How the hell did they let that guy go? Michigan fans complain about their programs but my god it could be worse.... it could be much worse... and then theres Rutgers...

They didn’t let Self go, he made the decision and went to a better gig. They’ve made a lot of dumb firings in basketball, but he wasn’t one of them.
