Cowherd is such an asshat. I hate that guy. Anything he says is total shit. I don't believe a thing that clown says. I'd rather listen to Huge then him and that's saying a lot. Listening to that annoying pompous ass should be considered slow torture.

I have this fear that there is one person feeding all of this optimism to various other people who then turn around and tell media people and so it sounds like it is coming from multiple sources when in reality it is just one.

When a 90% free throw shooter comes to the line with the game in the balance, I feel pretty good.  But the stakes are much higher here, so I need someone to come out and be 100% on this!  Jim, are you reading this?

I'm not saying this is only about money, by any means, but what if Harbaugh is still on the fence? Might Urban give him a buzz and let him know that 10% of his salary can be his if he doesn't take the job? Like an economist once said, incentives matter.

Listening to Mike & Mike coming in this morning on the way to work, all they want to talk about is their is no way Jim Harbaugh goes to Michigan.  They think he goes to the Raiders.  The reasoning is he doesn't have to move his family.  They put a big thing on that.  But coaches in college and NFL move all the time.  And in the same breath they start talking about Jets and Dolphins.

Is this a conspiracy that the NFL talking heads don't want the NFL to lose Jim Harbaugh?  This has all become pretty strange.

lets face it, the NFL is predominant.Golick is an ND guy and then an NFL guy. Turico (sp?) has been following the pro scene for years. To them it would be like a pro player asking the NCAA to let him have his last couple of years of eligibility to play for his alma mater.

But its differnt for a coach. Harbaugh could, with UM's resources, make us into a true powerhouse. If he wants to make a name for himself, it wouldn't be like the superbowl. However, I think it has its own special attraction.

I couldn't tell you who the coaches of most SuperBowl winning teams were going back past a few years. And with Parity that gets worse as you don't have NFL dynasties anymore.

But people will remember Saban for decades. He'll be like Bear Bryant.

All this is just IMHO.

I don't really hear anyone outside of Michigan fans and a few folks like Gregg Henson, Ira, etc., who believe Harbaugh is coming. That's what makes me think that Brian is absolutely right: We need to filter this optimism through the lens of what we want to happen. Former players who are closest to Harbaugh haven't been expressing that level of confidence. Neither Woodson nor Desmond, when given the opportunity and whose opinions probably could sway national media's reporting aren't all that confident. Outside of a couple scraps of rumor, what do we really have to give us any confidence? "Chatter?" A extra spring in the steps of a few folks in Schembechler Hall? That's not a lot. I don't know who is right, but I am still not placing anymore than a 50% chance we get Harbaugh here and that may be too generous.

OTOH, thiose closest to Jimmy would be the most likely to put up the smokescreen for now. Give him time to finish NFL season without being peppered by UM questions.

I think Wojo was 100% right: this isnt going into its 3d week for no good reason. Miles would have the job by now if UM truly thought they had no chance ar Jimmy.
