Happy Thanksgiving Everybody

Mates,
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I hope you are home and/or with loved ones, resting and enjoying the holiday.  Thanksgiving is a most American holiday, and though started in the 1600's, I always thought Lincoln's proclamation of it during the midst of the Civil War was the most heart-felt:

"It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union."

I do wish our great country to have more peace, harmony and tranquility, except for those folks in Columbus, for whom I wish crying and wailing and gnashing of teeth on Saturday.

Blessings to you all.  What are your plans this holiday?

Go Blue, beat ohio!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This isn't just a thing; there are a lot of troubles out in the world, even here in the States. If there is happiness in your life, be thankful.

Wishing one and all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

The kids are home for a few days, we’re also hosting relatives from out of town, heading to my brother in-law’s for dinner, and may be replicating a Michigan tailgate on Saturday as we watch te game.   We’re having a watch party on Saturday - and, will be following several games this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving fellow MGoBloogers

im Thankful I recovered from the flu yesterday just in time to celebrate my favorite holiday. On the downside  my Ukranian girlfriend is sick and won’t join us. While she obviously didn’t grow up with this tradition, like many holidays she did grow up with she can understand food and family.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to everyone.

We have the whole family over for the day and evening celebrating the holiday plus a birthday. We have much good fortune to celebrate.

I'm going to spend a bit of time enjoying watching everyone be happy and safe under my roof yet again. Also going to look at a few old family photos to reflect on the past few generations and how we got to this good place.

Food will be superb as the Keeper works her magic in the kitchen.

Hope everyone has a perfect day! And that this coming Saturday evening is equally as perfect after the Good Guys go to 12-0.

Peace.

Picking up Dad from assisted living and foregoing a Turkey in favor of one of his favorites-meatloaf. Wife frazzled and scurrying about in preparation per usual.

Starting the fire in the fireplace and watching the Lions. Go Hutch! Later in the evening a Belgian beer from Trader Joes. No longer like to get sloppy.

Happy Turkey Day to you and yours and to all UM fans. Hoping for good tidings.

Happy Thanksgiving!  As usual, we'll load up the kid and make the 2.5 hr drive to VA Beach to spend the day with the wife's dad and her uncle's family.  There'll be no football - the TV won't even be on - but they're good people and fun to hang with.

I wish safe travels to anyone on the road this weekend, and a wonderful day to all!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow MGoBloggers.  Wishing you all a wonderful day and feast no matter hiw you celebrate it today.

I'm also thankful for being part of this wonderful blog / community.  We all may not agree 100% of the time, but love the passion and fandom for the Wolverines across all the sports.

I considered posting Happy Thanksgiving or How I Hate OHio State this morning.  They were the first two posts on the board.

Go Blue and happy Thanksgiving.  I’m Thankful for Harbaugh, The dangermen, future dangerman, and all of the contributors including practice team Walk ons and everyone attacking each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

The Lincoln quote made me think of the Christmas Truce in World War 1.  For one day, American, British, and German troops played soccer, sang songs, and even ate together before returning to fight against each other the next day.  Many remember the day as making the fighting seem altogether pointless and the folly of war even more clear.

Anyway, good post XM.  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! For the first time in at least 15 years, we got another family member to host dinner; so the wife and I are lounging and getting ready to watch the parade. Beats running around like crazy cleaning and preparing food like we usually do.

Thanks, XM, for posting that Thanksgiving proclamation made nearly 160 years ago by President Lincoln.  I've long felt that what Abe had to say back then is something that should be proclaimed loudly and prominently every Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving blessings and safe travels to all of the MGoBoard family!

Now as for that turkey...

A typical Thanksgiving with the in-laws and the Loins, both of whom make me grateful for New Glarus Brewery.

It's a really nice feeling to have our daughter home from college for the first time. Thankfully, she hasn't changed much at all.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
