Happy Draft Day
Happy Draft Day, everyone.
What are your predictions for the first round? Bets? Gut feelings? WWTLD (What Will the Lions Do)?
After Murray and Bosa there doesn't seem to be any soilid consensus.
To get things started, and encourage others to join me in unproductivity, I predict the Lions will get Montez Sweat, Bush will be the first Michigan player drafted followed closely by Gary, and Lock will be drafted ahead of Haskins.
Draft is tomorrow.

You just crushed his joy.
You're a day early. Just sayin'.
With that said, hoping the Lions go defense in round one.

Would like to see them get the edge player.
Perfect. Just had my vasectomy, so I know what I'll be watching all weekend.
On a side note, my urologist was 9 months pregnant, and the whole time I was nervous she might go into labor and that scalpel would slip and cut something it wasn't supposed to?

In all seriousness, the worst part was the numbing injections. After that I didn't feel a thing. The whole thing was over before I realized they had even cut me open. However, I hear that the recovery can be rough for a couple of days, so the jury's still out on that part.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
Recovery gonna be real rough my man, if your old lady leave you and some smokin hot lady, wants a family with you.
Hopefully that never happens and you have a speedy recovery.

In that case you do what Michael did....
I just watched that episode.
Michael - "Mission Impossible guy. Rhymes with Schmom."
Jim - "Katie Holmes."
Michael - "No, married to her!"
Jim - "Oh, Dawson's Creek."
That show had such good writing it was ridiculous.

Wait...injectionS!?!?! I thought it was just one shot. Maybe having a sixth kid isn't the worst thing to happen to me.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:10 AM ^
There were three. The 2nd one was the worst.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:15 AM ^
If you have five kids you're already a glutton for punishment, so this should be a breeze
5 kids? that's just a starter set....
You went out and got the expansion kit, didn't you, XM
we have been blessed.
Shots are the worst part! My wife was of course late to pick me up, so asked if they give me additional to numb the pain. Dr shoots me up and then nurse goes "guess they can call you numb nuts now!" Hurt too much to laugh.
April 25th, 2019 at 12:09 PM ^
I really need to have this procedure as well, I just haven’t been able to pull the trigger. Glad it went well for you. Imagining the pain from the second shot you described isn’t helping. I’m not afraid of shots, I get them weekly, but not “there”.

Best movie ever.

I love me some Braveheart but I disagree that it is in that conversation. It is actually kind of a mess, but does have very memorable characters and action sequences.
Weird to think that the ending scene was considered "extreme" at the time. Gibson chuckled and said "hold my beer" and released The Passion and Apocolypto. Braveheart looks positively PG-13 now.

That's a good point. I remember being queasy watching that scene, and others in it. Now, I watch it over 20 years later and think "was all the violence edited out?" But it prepared me to stomach movies like Green Inferno and Hostel. I can't imagine those movies would have passed the MPAA board without massive cuts.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
I think part of it is that scene, apart from other movies with just "shock" violence, carried a lot of emotional weight with it too. It wasn't so much what was happening (although it was disturbing) but who it was happening to. Although I don't think all of the film holds up, the power of that scene is a testament to what came before it.
When Murron walks up...... is somebody cutting onions around here?
April 24th, 2019 at 10:17 AM ^
why does one "need" to get a vascetomy? not trolling
April 24th, 2019 at 10:19 AM ^
Can't speak for the other bloke, but in my case my wife would likely die if she ever got pregnant again. There are only two forms of birth control that are 100% and I'm not doing the other one.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
Hate to tell you brutus, vasectomy is not 100%.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:08 AM ^
There is a 1/2,000 chance that the vas deferens will find itself and reconnect in the first 3 months, which is why I need to provide a "sample" after 12 weeks. So technically, yes you're correct.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:42 AM ^
It’s closer to 100% than anything else. The “failures” are those that didn’t wait long enough. The 90+ day failure rate is virtually zero.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
props ma dude, i wont ever be doing that
April 24th, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
You're thinking too short sighted... You're ONLY thinking of yourself. My wife and I will never have kids again and it ain't because of me. Tubal ligation is very effective too. Not sure, but I think it may be more effective than a vasectomy.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:59 AM ^
The ball sling they give you is a little weird, Zach Smith disagrees, but other than that its pretty tame.
April 24th, 2019 at 11:43 AM ^
Worst part is feeling like you have bowling balls in your scrotum for a week or so.
I get one every year at draft time ...
Ummmm what?
April 24th, 2019 at 10:00 AM ^
Is this a premature draftination?
April 24th, 2019 at 10:03 AM ^
I predict you are a day early.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:04 AM ^
OP hit the goal post!
April 24th, 2019 at 10:05 AM ^
Did I miss something? Oh. It's only Wednesday.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
I wonder what his wonderlic score is.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
Thanks for pointing that out.
I'll zip up now.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:07 AM ^
OP is living the draft once today and a second time tomorrow.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:09 AM ^
oh, oops. Well I will try and edit before the thread is taken down.
EDIT: Can't edit. Maybe a mod could change title to "Happy Draft Day Tomorrow."
No change in my predictions.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
"Happy Draft Day Tomorrow" would be one of the best thread titles I've seen on here in years
April 24th, 2019 at 10:48 AM ^
Happy Draft Day Eve?
April 24th, 2019 at 12:05 PM ^
Working every day right now, so I don't really know what day it is. Got all excited when I saw your post. Now I'm just much disappointed.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:24 AM ^
Absolutely no confusion on my part Damone. All morning I thought it was Thursday. Had a lot going on and maybe just subconsiously ready for this week to be over. That's never happened to you?
Won't be able to actually watch the draft, on Thursday, either.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:41 AM ^
Don’t you hate that? It’s much better when you think it’s Wednesday, then realize it is Thursday.
April 24th, 2019 at 10:50 AM ^
My man - it happens to me once a week. Just glad it happens to others as well. All good - have a great Thur...Wednesday.
