Hags wins the Cup

Congratulations to Carl Hagelin on winning the Stanley Cup.

He was an important piece of the team... playing on a highly successful line with Phil Kessel and Nick Bonino (known as the "HBK" line).

Also see: Kevin Porter (who didn't play in the playoffs, if I'm reading the stats correctly) and Associate GM Jason Botterill.

Looks like Porter played the precise number of regular-season games to get his name on the Cup, and even got to hold it on the ice in his uniform tonight.

Most Cups since 1991: Detroit and Pittsburgh with 4. Puts the Penguins sixth on the all time Cups wins list, as well, behind only Montreal, Chicago, Boston, Detroit, Toronto, and Edmonton (so, five of the original six and the Gretzky-era Oilers). As a pure hockey fan, that's special company. Most successful franchise of the '67 expansion. Really pretty remarkable.

Good for the UM guys, but ughh...  I work in DC, which is filled with PA people - Pittsbugh fans everywhere you turn, with PSU a distant second.  Pittsburgh fans are the worst - knowledgeably delusional.  They have a lot of knowledge about the sports they follow, but are delusional in that nobody can beat a Pittsburgh team, ever.  They suck you into a good conversation then spew crap like 'no way Brady is the best ever, Bradshaw was way better'.  And other crap like that...

They're worse than Washington fans, who don't really get the game outside of Washington and always think the 'Skins are Super Bowl ready.  Every year.  Seriously...  They are easy to dismiss.

But congrats to the Pens, they certainly had the team this year and earned it on the ice.

Since the Lions sucked, my second favorite team was whoever Washington played.  I did enjoy watching the Capitals go from being pretty average to exciting after they drafted Ovie.

But in terms of worst transplant fans, I thought the combination of Philly/PSU fan was the worst.  Most obnoxious group of mouth breathers that I've ever encountered.

He seemed ok but that was after PSU's third straight win over UM. Now that I read that garbage I am not liking them at all. Bradshaw over Brady? Thats rediculous to the point of pissing me off. Without Webster and co. or Lynn Swann, Bradshaw is good but not even close to Brady great. Brady has done it longer with whoever is on his team he pretty much will make them great they don't make him great
