Greg Sankey Wants to Keep Football Recruiting "Healthy"

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on

And those incentives Gary was supposedly offered? Those would be "healthy" incentives.

. @GregSankey said they want to keep football recruiting in a healthy atmosphere.

Time will tell on that one.  The Tennessean had this interesting nugget in its article:

The plaintiffs say that UT’s administrative hearing process, which is utilized by public universities across the state, is unfair because it provides students accused of sexual assault the right to attorneys and to confront their accusers through cross-examination and an evidentiary hearing in front of an administrative law judge. The administrative law judge who hears the case is appointed by Cheek, the lawsuit says.

A lot of the accusations in the lawsuit, if true, are a really bad look for the school.  This one, though, I would hope is true of any instance where someone is accused of a crime.  How this paragraph is part of the basis of a lawsuit is totally beyond my understanding.

I should have used "allegedly" in my earlier post. But to your point, the biggest reason for using that quote in the lawsuit is the last sentance. The ladies believe the school and administrators are squarely on the side of the athletes and must believe the judges appointed are not independent enough. Whether that's true remains to be seen.

Is the horse dead yet? Seems like someone could find anti-Michigan/Harbaugh quotes all day if they wanted. This info is quickly turning from news worthy to white noise.

Go Blue.

I wonder if he knows what a ridiculous hypocrite he is? Seriously, I really wonder this. Is it even remotely possible that he thinks the SEC has the "moral high ground" in recruiting and can therefore moralize about it? Or did he go home last night and sob slowly into a glass of scotch, knowing that everything he said on this topic throughout the day was the biggest load of horseshit since the "moon landing" (yeah, right)???

My guess (without knowing the first thing about the man)... is he's exactly like Goodell.   He has a cushy, well respected position that pays very well and which he's completely unqualified for.  His one true job is to protect the shield... er.... the ESS EEE CEE.  Self respect and morality got nuttin to do with it.

This guy needs to start spending his time worrying about the stupid stuff Ole Miss and Tenn are doing, putting huge black eyes on his conference, and stopped worrying about our Coach.

True.  For every one time he mentions Harbaugh in the media, the SEC's issues with Ole Miss and Tennessee get mentioned ten times.

Not too smart on his part.

When you rob banks for a living, you usually try not to call attention to yourself.

This reminds me of the Montreal Canadiens who wanted to stay healthy in the original 6 days where you couldn't take a player out of Quebec to stay "healthy" and won a ton of cups. Scotty Bowman must have his hands in this. /s
