Grace Harbaugh scores first career goal in Michigan Water Polo’s win at home

#7 Michigan hosted the Wolverine Invitational this weekend at Canham Natatorium.

Easily won it defeating Santa Clara 15-3, #15 Long Beach State 12-9, Iona 14-6 and #22 Bucknell 15-6.

In the Iona game, freshman Grace Harbaugh scored her first career goal. MGoBlueTV caught the reaction of Jack and Jim along with his son Jack.

We were at the Saturday game and saw them there as well as Jim Abbott whose daughter Ella also plays on the team and is a heavy contributor.

Michigan will be back at home at the end of April when we host the CWPA Conference Tournament.

Thanks for the link.

I'm gonna sound like a dick, but that was just a standard goal. What she did well was beat her defender down the pool. Once the goalie came out to contest and lost her legs it was basically an open net. Nicest shot of the clip was at :47. Looks like they were man up and a nice wrap around shot to beat the goalie cross cage.

I actually was motivated enough about this to look in the rule book to see if that was possible.

Unfortunately it isn't--water polo caps must be a solid color with only the numbers a contrasting color.  Oh, well, it was a good idea anyway.

FIFY. See? You don't need to sound like a know-it-all jerk to make your point.

In other news, a lot of other Wolverine water polo players scored a lot of other goals this weekend.

But none of them are the daughter of the football HC or former MLB pitcher, so they won’t be mentioned here.

Well golly, we all thought a water polo aficionado such as yourself would've already know the goal scorers and assorted particulars.

Here are a couple of links for you to get all the info your little heart desires regarding the Wolverine Invational:

Jim Abbott's daughter plays?  Water polo has to be a tough sport with only one arm...

edit...ok, ok.  It was a joke.  A poorly thought out one, and an insensitive one, but just a joke.

I remember Harbaugh being that excited on the sideline for his football teams.

Those were indeed good times.

Why? I don’t have pictures of campus in my apartment.

I’m a Michigan fan. All I care about is Michigan Athletics. The university being so good academically is nice and all but it doesn’t concern me. We could have middle of the road academics and it wouldn’t change anything for me.

I did my time in academia and am happy to be in the real world. Much prefer it.

That's bullshit.

You're one of the first clowns to run around parroting "online state"... even though, wait for it, Michigan has online classes too.
