GBMW should open up its commenting and skip the approval process if it's going to start or participate in a blog slap fight. It only seems fair.

my anonymous comment on there didn't get posted, but all the "good" posts did. I almost wonder if they didn't just write their own responses to their own post. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

There were more than a few comments that weren't posted, including ones that were simply critical and not laden with profanity or personal attacks. They are definitely being selective with what they approve. So much for keeping those comments coming.

My favorite- that whole post is actually reasonable. The WLA is garbage. What if GBMW had posted the following quote...? "Criticism is a study by which men grow important and formidable at very small expense. He whom nature has made weak, and idleness keeps ignorant, may yet support his vanity by the name of a critic." ~Samuel Johnson ...would all the pseudointellectual readers who worship grammar and flowery prose stop and think about it?

And you can't apply the criticism quote to a brick laying construction worker, janitor, and supposed high school football coach who criticize and critique every tiny step of Rich Rodriguez and Michigan? What do pseudo intellectuals who have to WikiQuote Samuel Johnson to make a point think about that?

Indeed, you can apply a quote regarding criticism to anyone who criticizes. GBMW and WLA both put out mostly garbage content. That's why I don't read them. The difference is, only one of those feels compelled to send messages like "If I pay you $2,000, will you shoot yourself and coachbt in the fucking face and never post on the internet again?" You sure showed them, tough guy.

but i'm making a jerk off motion with my left hand Notice that not once are any of the many legitimate points we've brought up addressed. Instead, it's speculation that I get "my info" from there - I don't - and baseless dick wagging about page clicks on the e-blogs. Yeah, Nickelback sells a ton of records, they must be better than the Beatles or something.

The dude has a point. All this e-fighting has only sent more people to GBMW. I never visited that site until a couple weeks ago, when it seems like the anti-GBMW comments started to spill forth more frequently. That made me interested in going to their site for a laugh... Really, their site isn't very informative, it's ugly, and it's poorly written. I can find their "inside information" on MGoBlog or Rivals or a couple other message boards, and it's written better and more coherent in all those other places. I'm not bashing them. They can do what they want. They probably make a bit of money from their site and we're all Michigan fans, so whatever. But it's not my type of place, so I won't be visiting there anymore. That's the only way I can show that I don't care for their blog - by not going there anymore. I advise others of you to do the same if you don't care for it. Full disclosure: I also have only visited the WLA once. Not really my thing.

We all grow up and just enjoy what each others blogs have to offer. I love the WLA, but c'mon guys, you kind of come across like the guys who played on the team but never saw the field so you have to make fun of other people to justify your inability to actually compete. And GBMW, please just have your mom or someone proof your posts. You might get 3X's the readers if it actually made sense. I frequent each one of said blogs and view them for fun. I like the wit of the guys at WLA and some of the coach speak from GBMW. Neither come close to offering what this blog does and I don't think they care to. Do your thing and shut your mouths. It will do more harm than good to your sites to continue to feud like 10 year olds. That is all. Now flame away. EDIT: I realize this comes across as "tough guy behind the keyboard", but all I want is for us UofM fans to enjoy this birth of new era football together and in harmony.

while i respectfully disagree with you on the merits of a slapfight (e-pissing contests between e-writers is what the e-webs were e-vented for), i agree MGo isn't the place for it. No need to have three threads on various levels of the GBMW/WLA WAR 09 on the board at once. there's plenty of other places to vent frustration with the enemy.

....schools without fired up fanbases, like Minnesota. I expect opinions to be funny, smart and, well, opinionated. If I wanted to just hear, "oh golly, I agree with your excellent point, let me embellish it" I'd call my Mom.

Maybe they're not "the norm." They're not "camera friendly." They don't "wear clothes that fit them." They're not a "heartbreakers." They haven't "had sex with a woman;" They don't know "how that works." I guess They don't "fall in line." They're not "hygenic." They don't "wipe properly." They lack "style." They have no "charisma" or "self esteem." They don't "own a toothbrush" or "let their scabs heal." They can't "reach all the parts of their body." When they sleep, they "sweat profusely" ... (apologies to Chris Farley)

I guess if I want to get more hits on my blog, I should start an e-fight with another e-blog... Hmmm...what's a giant blog with a vast amount of readership I could insult...?

If I ever get my blog up and running, I will challenge you, kind sir, to an honor duel. I bet we raise enough interest that we get both of our entire families to read our blogs....every once in a while, at least. Keep up the good work, but you are On Notice!

GBMW has a point...if you dont like the site, dont goto it. there's absolutely no need for aaron dexter to send a childish threatening message via the interwebs to someone who, gasp, actually likes the same football team he does. the wla is complete garbage.

First, people need to chill the outrage over this "feud" Most of this shit is, while not necessarily well intentioned, still just e-banter and oftentimes humorous. I fail to see how it hurts M football or people's delicate sensibilities. If it does then don't participate. Second, while I don't have the context, the "shoot yourself in the face" comment is over the line IMO.

I'd never been to that website, until today. Now I understand what you are talking about at least. Grammar isn't the only issue. How about content. He wrote an entire article that sounded like a Big Ten Network regurgitation, and if you've seen any of their work. Not the most indepth.

Personally, I don't think names should be revealed - either way - on a supposedly anonymous site. If you take things that seriously, perhaps you should take a break from the internet and re-involve yourself in daily life. I spend a lot of time on this here internet and website, but ultimately, the interactions here have very little impact on my real life. It should stay that way.

I don't think posting under your real name is a requirement to being credible or entertaining. I think if you are trying to be a legitimate news site, like this here blog, it's a good strategy to go by your real name. In the case of WLA, I can see why some of our contributors don't use real names. I use a version of mine. I do think calling people out for not using a real name when you post as (insert witty moniker here) is silly, like you said earlier.
