Game-Winning TD vs ND: Radio Call
I just put together this video of Beckmann's radio call when Michigan scored the game winning touchdown last week.
Gives me chills.
Gotta focus on tomorrow though.

What a contrast to the ND radio call.

Have you got a link for that? I've been wanting to hear it.

Definitely worth a listen. Nearly speachless after Gallon catches his last pass of the night.

Hoot! Thanks!

I love how the asshat ND announcers say Denard "is a poor thrower" and has basically no idea where he's throwing the ball right before he uncorks the long completion to Gallon.

Pure awesomeness. That's right there w "shoelaces flapping in the wind".

just couldn't believe that was a touchdown. First, it was incomplete and then he claimed the ref hadn't signaled touchdown. Beckman was all over it. What a beautiful game!

..announcers need to stop smoking the clover cause the ref signaled TD immediately yet they claim there was no signal. Then they said there was no explanation for the penalty flag yet just a moment earlier you can hear the ref on the PA say pass interference, defense, penalty declined. Pathetic.

Your signature and this play go hand-in-hand. Plays like this get a receiver the #1.

I believe you can see Heiko in the background of that picture on the youtube video (he's the guy next to the guy in the plaid shirt).

It sounds like Frank was already starting to lose his voice before the Roundtree catch.

Is there an archive of radio broadcasts somewhere?

I don't understand the hard-on some folks get over Beckmann. I get it that some used to ride around in a pick-up with grandpa back in the 90s while listening to the game yada yada...
His nasally voice is shot. It is like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard at times. Time for someone new. His call during the final minutes didn't do justice to the game.

I'm pretty sure you don't get it if the full sum of your understanding is reflected in your post.

I'll clear it up for you. Beckmann is getting worse every year. His play descriptions are awful and he often sounds like a bumbling fool. If you have a nostalgia woody for him, God Bless!
If you want to hear a decent game call with accurate and timely descriptions of play, build a time-machine and take a listen to Ufer back in the day.

I can see some of the complaints about Beckman. I like to listen and watch the game with the delay. He is still spot on and has passion for the team. He definitely gets on the officials too much though.
