Geena Gall (800) is also headed to London.

Anna Pierce (nee Willard) and her crazy hair run tomorrow in the 1500 final.  Best of luck to her and all the Wolverines who are headed to London!

Thomas...

Be safe out there brother!

When

When a non-playoff team wins the Stanley Cup, then the regular season is meaningless.

As of late...

Interpol-Turn of the Bright Lights

Clayton Richard

is/was a lefty QB who found his way back to the pitcher's mound.

Great Season Wolverines!

Way to Go!!!

Lose Money?

Did I miss something? Is Goodell somehow making extra money off this Saints saga?

Also, football players are compenstated because they can play football...not because it's dangerous.

Jake

Jake Fisher? no.  Jake Long? yes!

Jesse Owens said it best...

Foxy Lady

How could Jimi not like Michigan?!? He wrote a song about all the beautiful women on campus called 'Foxy Lady'.

Nevermind

Disregard

Meram scored his first MLS goal last night!!!

Way to go, Wolverine!

Another Title!

Winning softball championships never gets old!

EPL

Yes, EPL is done for this season but still lots of football to look forward to like Champions League final, MLS (hoping Soony Saad and Justin Meram see the pitch a bit more) and, of course, Euro 2012.  BTW, I think this commercial is excellent...

Excellent Work

Way to go Wolverines!!!

Record?

I thought this was going to say he benched 225 lbs 60 times or something like that.

Anyway, the kid hung around and finally found the field his senior year.  It's got to be tough when you're dad was a solid NFL player and you are struggling to find the field at the college level.  But, he'll always have the number  '1' in the TD column next to his name.

If I was talented enough to play football for Michigan, get on the field AND score a touchdown for Michigan, I would have to consider my college career a roaring success.  I really hope this kid can latch on to an NFL team.

Nice!

What a classy move by the Columbus coach.

Pitchers had a nice day.

Love the box score today.  Tigers had 5 pitchers today and all have season ERAs of 0.00.

Just Sayin' But

That Kate Upton video would be good right about now...

1989 Tournament

I was a freshman in 1988-89 and I was accustomed to Michigan underachieving in the NCAA tournament prior to that year.  It was a great run and I remember when the final game was set, Michigan vs Seton Hall, I thought 'Where is Seton Hall?' I couldn't Wikipedia it back then.  They were a tourney newbie back then I believe. Had no idea but a smart friend of mine was able to fill me in.

During the final game in the final few minutes, some idiot pulled the fire alarm in South Quad.  My buddies and I locked our door thinking the RA would never stop by.  But, she keyed the door and told us to go outside.  In a panic, we went over to The Union and heard the final seconds of regulation on somebody's radio.  I am sure the fine members of the Ann Arbor Fire Department were watching the game too and they didn't want to get stuck of some b.s. fire alarm at South Quad.  There was a game to watch! So, they quickly gave the all clear and we all piled back into South Quad in time to catch Rumeal sink his two free throws.  Then, it was on to South U.  What a great night!

A few post game pics courtesey of the Lansing State Journal...

The disappointed Spartan basketball team stands as the Big Ten Championship banner is unfurled after MSU's 72-70 loss to Ohio State Sunday March 4, 2012 in East Lansing. Due to the loss MSU must share the Big Ten title with Ohio State and Michigan.MSU head coach Tom Izzo talks to the crowd after the 72-70 loss to Ohio State.Dejected MSU fans look on at the end of MSU's 72-70 loss to Ohio State.

I might be a little bias

but I'd say 1988-89 (my freshman year).  I remember some guys selling t-shirts that said something like "1989 Basketball National Champs" on the front and "...if that weren't enough 1989 Rose Bowl Champs".  That was my favorite shirt for a long time and I wore the crap out of it.

No experience

in football but I have played a lot of other sports growing up and have watched a ton of Meeechigan games over the past 30 years.

Go USA!

Italy will be a great test for the Yanks.

Additionally, hard to believe that Freddy Adu is still under 23.  At that age, it seems like he should still be starting his career.

Idaho State, eh?

I forgot ISU even existed.  Take a look at their home field...

My vote it for the...

My vote is for the Allstate Arena home to the DePaul Blue Demons.  My main beef with this place is its location.  It's located  15 miles off campus.  Student are transported by bus to the arena (if they want to go).  Judging by last week's game vs Louisville...not many student wanted to go.  There were maybe 100 students sitting in folding chairs behind one of the baskets.  Louisville fans came by the bus load and easily outnumbered DePaul fans.  Lastly, I think it cheapens the accomplishments of the great DePaul teams from the Ray Meyer era when you have your Final Four banner hanging in the same rafters as banners for the Chicago Wolves (minor league hockey) and Chicago Rush (arena football).

"Not A Perfect Man"

I've been reading a lot of these Paterno obits.  Many of them seem to use the phrase 'he wasn't a perfect man but' blah blah blah.  Well, I don't think anyone expected Joe Pa to be a 'perfect man'.  All they expected of him was to do the right thing...and Paterno clearly failed.

Good Info

Don't follow recruiting like I use to but I still pay attention as signing day approaches.  Thanks for a succinct summary.

It was said before but

I can't believe that Juwan is still in the NBA.  It would be great for him to get a ring with the Heat.

Good Info

Thanks brah!

Shane

This kid has confidence.

I agree

I've never seen the 'let's kick on 3rd down just in case something bad happens so we can still kick on 4th down' strategy play out.  Sure, plenty of these 3rd down kicks have been made but I can't recall a botched snap and then a kick on fourth down.

In this instance, let's say it was a botched snap and Georgia recovered at the 32 yard line.  Now, they're looking at a 49 yard field goal on fourth down.  That's far.  (Although, Gibbons would have drilled it.)  Georgia should've just ran a play on third down and been content with gaining a few yards for their kicker.

Welcome Aboard!

It's your first semester so take it nice and easy.  A ND friend has suggested taking doobie rolling 100 or pimpology 101.

Train Wreck?

But they're our train wreck.  Go Pistons!

Yeeeeeesssssssssssssssss!

It's great to be a Meeeeeeeeeechigan Wolverine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My new favorite NL team...

STL.  Good luck Wolverine!!!

I-57

Take the Chicago route but gas is more expensive in the Chicago area so try and avoid stopping there.  Fill up in Indiana.

Try and avoid Kankakee too...ghetto town.

The Illini do not have an arch rival per se.  It's supposed to be Northwestern but they already played them on 10/1 and nobody even cares about that game.  Hence, Illinois student will be all decked out in there orange "Muck Fichigan" t-shirts thinking that this some HUGE game.

Finally, try and avoid the area south of the stadium.  It smells like pooh over by there.

Don Criqui

just couldn't believe that was a touchdown.  First, it was incomplete and then he claimed the ref hadn't signaled touchdown.  Beckman was all over it.  What a beautiful game!

Soony

I know Soony left but did he sign with a club? Does anyone know? Thanks

Lies...

and more lies.

Men of Action?

Fickell spoke at an introductory news conference, during which he promised Buckeyes fans a team that would be about "respect, toughness and being men of action."

Does the 'men of action' phrase mean that they will now promptly report all NCAA violations instead of ignoring them?

MLB Draft

Tigers should've drafted this kid...

Old Skool and Length

1) Anytime somebody is referred to as an "old school" player/coach.

2) Basketball announcers always talk about a player's height and LENGTH. So you're saying that this basketball player is tall AND has long arms...what a lethal combination.
