Of all of our miniature slot ninjas, Gallon has me the most excited. Glad to hear he was able to put his head down and concentrate on academics. Good news for all.

has anyone actually confirmed this on the myspace page in question? I couldn't dig it up and there isn't a confirmation thread that doesn't seem derived from the GBW thread elsewhere, so I don't want to post it in case it's some guy yanking chains.

he just needs to make sure he keeps his grades straight at Michigan, it is going to be alot harder there, so hopefully he takes it serious.

Hopefully Turner is next, but considering some (including me) were not expecting Gallon to make it, this has indeed been a bright spot in my day. Who do you guys expect to take the majority of snaps in the slot? Tae Odoms obviously played pretty darn well last year, T-Rob apparently looks good in practice, and now Gallon. Plus guys like Roundtree etc. I mean they aren't that many snaps to go around.

Hopefully the competition can bring out the best slot possible. I like Roundtree mainly for his hands of glue, I don't think he's as shifty as some of the other guys but he made some nice grabs in the spring game. Also the glut of slot receivers could maybe allow a couple to specialize in not dropping kicks.

Looks like he will have several options. Hopefully he works out in the return game. Also he could fill the slot, change of pace quarterback, running back. Should be an exciting guy to watch. Hope Turner makes it in soon so he can get to work. Because of depth, I think he is one kid that we need the most.

This could turn out to be a great first class for Rich Rodriguez..studs, talent and confidence all over the field...I think we might see these guys play in a BCS National Championship soon I sure hope JT qualifies as he was the highest rated player in our class (or at least a top two)

I wonder if this frees up Stokes to push for playing time on the outside. I think he will push for playing time regardless of whether it is slot or outside. Outside might be more beneficial now.

The 2009 recruiting class has some serious fire power, my goodness. This is definitely my favorite class for UM in a LONG time, or ever for that matter. On top of the 4 and 5 star guys, I think Rich found a lot diamonds in the rough. Jeremy Gallon is one of the players I think will make a long term impact on this team, glad he is officially aboard.

Does this mean that every player who signed in the class is actually going to show up? If so, when was the last time that actually happened? Seems like we've been losing at least one before the first day of August every class.

I think I can say that the biggest immediate impact JG will make for us is on kick off and punt returns. I think RR kinda had that in mind for JG when he was being recruted after the disaterous year we had last year in the kick off and punt return game. Don't get me wrong, I think he will be used very similar to how he was used in high school in the slot but I think he gives us a threat in the return game that we so badly missed last year. This is excellent news for the maize and blue!

I think Gallon will see the field this year, but Martavious remains the #1 slot. He should have a good to great understanding of the offense by now. After this year it's hard to say.
