So is this Student Conduct hearing for the rape allegation or the "fuck her in the pussy" event?  If its for the rape thing, then is it like the Gibbons thing?  Even though neither was charged with anything, they could (and did in one case)  get kicked out of school for it?   In Jimbos press conference today he kept saying he wasn't worried about anything coming of it because he already knew the facts and that Winston wasn't charged with anything.  But Gibbons wasn't charged with anything either correct?  So Jameis could still get kicked out under the new rule where the school only needs an allegation or something to that affect?

Correct. Same type of proceeding as the Gibbons case. If Jimbo isn't concerned he's either (1) lying, (2) an idiot, or (3) knows Winston will no longer be a student at FSU by the time the proceeding actually starts. As for the standard, it isn't as easy as there just being an allegation but that might as well be the case. Whereas in a criminal case the standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt", in these cases it's just "preponderance of the evidence".

So only exactly the same standard as every civil case in the USA... and like a civil case it also cannot lead to imprisonment.

He's going to ruin the very fortunate position he's in one day very soon if he doesn't grow up a bit. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him flame out of the NFL for legal issues

Some NFL team will take a chance on him.  Maybe the Rams since Sam Bradford is made of glass.  Maybe Oakland, although since Al Davis isn't around anymore, maybe not.  Is Al Davis's son calling the shots now? Speaking of, Mark Davis has to be a pretty wealthy man...couldn't someone tell him that his hair makes him look like a moron? Seriously, decent hair is max like 20 bucks.  Great clips has 8 dollar Tuesdays.

I never got the Manziel hate.  Ya, he's kind of a tool and likes to party and is cocky but I mean -- he was a superstar athlete at like what, 19 or 20? He describes 95% of college aged guys.  Worst thing he did was sign some autographs and accidentally give a cop his fake ID when he was hammered instead of his real one.

Being a partier or tool still isn't equatable to rape allegations. Just putting that out there. Oh and you apparently don't know enough college aged kids then if none of them are partiers like Manziel.

I would take Manziel in a heartbeat with all his so called "problems" vs. Winston who has actual problems hanging over his head along with 0 common sense to boot.

no one was equating Manziel's behavior with Winston's.  Literally no one.  Certainly not the person I was responding to.  People can and do "hate" on celebrities who are tools--even those that aren't rapists.

And I know plenty of college aged kids--apparently just better quality than those you know or project about.

Considering I recently graduated, I'm not projecting shit. My lower quality acquaintances are currently either working at firms, in law schools or medical schools.. Ah yes they totally lack your high brow quality since they happened to party hard at Umich you know, my and their alma mater? Take your judgmental elitism elsewhere.

First, it ain't your site, so you don't get to tell me to take "my judgmental elitism" or anything else elsewhere.

Second, this all started with my simply agreeing with someone that Manziel is a tool and that he is nothing like most college age males I know.

You are apparently endorsing Manziel-reality-show-like behavior--suggesting that it  is somehow the norm and just partying hard.  We disagree.

Ya man.  Poor Jameis.  He was so wound up that night from his terrible life -- he just needed to bust a nut.  And I mean who among us hasn't had the urge to steal crab legs when we have a craving? I know it's crossed my mind.

Yelling "fuck her right in the pussy" while standing on top of a table in a crowded college area while sexual assault allegations are hanging over your head? Shit, man the stress got to him.

And so what if Manziel doesn't "need" the money? He wanted it -- someone was willing to pay him for it.  Same for Winston.  It doesn't matter.

I'm honestly wondering why so many people hate Manziel. Yeah he was kind of a douche, and probably still is, but I'm not sure many of us would act much differently at his age. You're 19-21 years old thrust into the national spotlight. Everyone knows your name. Celebrities want to party with you. You're one of the faces of college football. Could many of us honestly sit there and say we wouldn't live it up like he did? I'm not sure.

But I think Manziel and Winston are in two different classes of "human garbage." Manziel is just a little full of himself and he likes to party. Stuff like that tends to disappear with age and maturity, which I think he's getting sitting on the bench and watching a former nobody like Brian Hoyer lead what was supposed to be his team. As long as Hoyer keeps winning, no one gives two craps about Manziel. Browns fans are just happy their team is winning games.

Winston, on the other hand, has some serious character issues, and tends to think he's above the law. Manziel caught headlines for partying. Winston catches headlines for sexual assault charges, shoplifting, and yelling obscenities in public for all to hear. Two very different things.

Sooner or later the admin at that place has to stop ignoring the fire. Or they can just go all the way and close the uni to become a semi pro football team

Hopefully he grows up sometime soon. I'm no NFL scout or GM, but if I were, I'd have to be seriously alarmed and put off by how this kid just can't seem to stay out of the news, and for all the wrong reasons. I think some teams have even said he's been dropped off their big boards completely for next year.

He's got the mark right now of just some other first round talent with all the tools you'd ever want in an NFL quarterback, but is out of the league within 1-2 years. Hate saying this, but wouldn't be surprised if he's in jail one day.

The people that are offended that a kid jokingly shouted "fuck her right in the pussy" clearly never attended University. Was it immature? Yes, but that's the worst it was.

And to be honest, I really don't care about this story. The same as I didn't care about the OSU "story". More concerned about the Alabama football player impersonating George Jung from inside his dorm.

I think the compliance department is still looking into how Bobby Bowden ended up with a charge from Ms. Priss' Cat Emporium...I mean, does he look like the kind of guy who would buy from a dad gum cat emporium?!?

FSU fans are getting tired of this act. I heard some on the radio this morning dogging him. one kid who said he was an FSU student said "we shoulda thrown him off the team when he yelled obscenities in the student cafeteria. this is getting old."

"We could make them not have any fans from that standpoint and not sign for anybody. That's what it's going to come to, and that's a shame for college football, that somebody exploits a kid. Now if they're getting paid for it, then I don't have any knowledge of that. I don't believe Jameis did." - Jimbo Fisher, in the article

Did anyone else imagine a sarcastic, indignant Jimbo Fisher when reading this passage? Actually, if you can see that, the image becomes almost funny in a sad sort of way. Clearly, in his considered opinion, he should be able to sign away, unless he is paid, in which case Jimbo knows of no such events currently scheduled.
