sick, my one year old has a temperature of 101, my mom is in the hospital, my basement is flooded, my power is out, and I am fresh out of vacation/personal time so I am at the office without the ability to do anything about any of it. Happy Friday!!!! I will neg myself out.
Ugh. And then depression set in.
the depression will set in when I decide the answer to all of this is to borrow against the next fiscal year personal time, leave work unnecessarily at 12:30, get a 12 pack because that always solves everything, mow half the lawn because it is too hot to finish, make hot dogs on the grill that taste like shit, and finally spend $100 for a hotel room for the night only to have the power come back on 10 minutes after check in.
That is when the depression sets in.
And I was going to complain about my wife and son both being sick. But at least I have electricity and PTO left, so I guess I don't really have anything to bitch about.

This week has been a particularly trying one because of a lot of things which evade my control but somehow do not change the expectations of those who require work to be done. Between heat and thunderstorms, we've not had an extremely productive July when it comes to new work and it is sadly beginning to be felt on the phones around here. That is one of the things which make me want the weekend pretty badly right now, even to the point where I am considering ways to begin it as soon as I get through the one meeting that I need to actually be at today.
Wife and kids are drivning me crazy today. If I am not doing some sort of project around the house my wife thinks I am lazy and starts yelling at me. Kids are fighting with each other and it is hot outside. I think I need a vacation from my family.

So don't take it personal even if today turns out to be more like a Fry-Day than a Friday.
