Football recruiting visitors this weekend

I understand Magnus usually posts this, he hadn't posted it yet and thought the board may find this info valuable. This weekend and next weekend are huge recruiting weekends for football with multiple top targets visiting

A more under the radar target for this weekend that I'm high on is 3* RB Harry Stewart. Dude's tape is really impressive given he's playing in Texas. He's a bowling ball back with great balance and change of direction for a guy of his build and has solid breakaway speed. Would love to bring him in with one of Jordan Marshall or Taylor Tatum

Tape? That’s cute.

If what anything the last two years have taught us is, you NEED a "special" running back to succeed. I'm all for crossing your fingers for a diamond in the rough, but we need to land a special 4-5 star to take over for Don and Blake.

Completely agreed, just saying that I think Stewart would be a potentially good second back to bring in if we miss out on some other targets
I agree that bowling ball is the wrong adjective. His tape looks good enough to me to be our main rb recruit. He is exceptional at getting downhill and you can tell he really understands this. His ypc might be quite high in college. He is slippery.
By "bowling ball", I mean short and thick who bounces off guys and doesn't go down easily, but I guess that doesn't quite do him justice
I agree with your assessment of this young man-watched his clips a couple weeks ago. Stewart is a lead back of the highest order. The ranking will catch up with him.

While I generally agree with your point, Haskins might want to have a word with you. He was a meh recruit but was a very good back (yes, I agree that Corum is even better).
Haskins should never buy another drink in Ann Arbor for the rest of his life!

Based solely on that video clip you posted, I'd say he's pretty good at running past first contact but calling him a "bowling ball" is a bit hyperbolic.
Agree. He is an elusive and agile back, far more so than any “bowling ball” descriptor. Plus he is relatively average size (205 lbs) and not a big frame (5’10”) to add a lot of weight.
He looks like a top tier athlete. Surprised about the 3* since TX is thoroughly recruited/scouted.
Good call njvictor... Stewart's tape is quite good... he looks much better than his ranking. He has several 5 star traits, and his film is better than several 5 star (eg derrick green) films I've seen. I hope we get him but something tells me hes gonna blow up, and the bigs are gonna be coming for him.
I digress... how odd is it that Goodwin is 165 lb and yet the son of our former OL. I have never seen that before, the body type discrepancy in weight from father to son, when it comes to football recruit.
Good point although with a father that large, if he had any young boy mischief in him, maybe he was constantly on the run. :-)
Tape? Your outdated terminology makes a technological maverick such as myself feel superior!

But what about JD and the Charlie's?

One Charley boy was listed...JD's wideout (Channing Goodwin, son of Jonathan Goodwin).

Something other than hoops sorrow.... Well done....

Easley would be huge. Kankakee is taking their football program extremely seriously as a way to bring their prestige as a town and a high school up a level or too.
Just hired Miles Osei, a former Illinois receiver/QB, who is extremely young and ambitious and just turned around Elk Grove into a genuine winner. They've got the talent, they've got the investment, and they've got the potential, so landing Easley and Hill in back to back years would make Michigan a perennial favorite with top prospects coming out of a burgeoning powerhouse.

sorry but if you're not using recruit names as just initials or nicknames, then signing off with random numbers, I'm not interested in reading

*Nitro Tuggle* is absolutely a NOTY candidate...
March 10th, 2023 at 11:51 AM ^
His real name is NiTareon, which is still pretty good.
March 10th, 2023 at 12:22 PM ^
NIT-areon would seem a more fitting basketball recruit for us.
Crew Colon is a bad ass name too.

Love seeing the good guys attacking Ohio recruits with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. 1193!

Thanks for the link!
Thats a lot of dudes. How does the staff make sure that nobody feels left out?
Looks like a list I would expect to attend the barbecue!
Hey Magnus, for your site header, use z-index attribute in your css so your scrolling does not scroll through and be visible under your header.
What?
We are clearly a football school again. Repeat B1G champs, high expectations for 2023, excellent recruiting momentum, no March Madness and disappointing baseball start.
I think that should energize me, but cognitive dissonance is setting in . . .
