Any movie about the highly competitive world of ___{insert fringe talent/hobby here}____ where the school is inexplicably obsessed with this pastime, and our hero has to face off with the best, somewhat dickish senior to win over they boy/girl they’re into.

tough call.  breakfast club, higher learning, friday night lights, boyz n the hood, animal house, revenge of the nerds, remember the titans are some good ones.  all explore approx 16-21 age range from different angles

HS Films I enjoy are Dazed and Confused, American Pie, and Can't Hardly Wait.

All came out while I was in high school, so probably why I feel connected to them.
