Fake tickets.
Obviously no one on this board is this stupid. None the less. Check it out.

Are you saying that the nice old lady who sold me the OSU ticket in section 23, row 20 for $5 is a crook?

Does anyone know if StubHub is legit? I know they have a good reputation but just wondering if anyone has had any problems.

Its usually legit. I'd also go on craigslist and exchange hut. If you have facebook, you usually can find some tickets on there as well.

Stubhub is pretty legit. I have made several transactions on stubhub at several different stadiums and never had a problem. I always got my tickets on time, and I always had a good experience.
I would be cautious with craigslist. There was a story in the news recently about a kid who bought a ticketmaster printable ticket to Freedom Hill, made several copies of the printable ticket, and sold them. The kid even went out and met people to give them and gave them all of his information (address, phone number, e.t..c). There was about 50 people who all had the exact same seat, and 49 of them didn't get in. So be careful with craigslist transactions.

StubHub has what they call FanProtect Guarantee.
But you wouldn't have anyway of knowing if the ticket was legit or not until you bought it. I guess if it was fake that's when you could contact StubHub.

to both of you.

I have used stub hub extensively the past few years and I find it to be very legit. I've never had any problems with the tickets at all. I believe the FanProtect Guarantee is that if you do have any problems with a ticket you purchase off the site, stub hub basically gives you a ticket to the game from the unsold ones or something. That could be a hassle if you only find out 5 min before game time, but as I said it's never been a problem for me.

but last week you could still buy some tickets for the Penn State game at mgoblue.com.

Stubhub is actually officially licensed as a ticket reseller for many teams and some of the leagues (such as MLB).
Stubhub is legit and I've never had a problem with them. I have had a problem with Stubdepot.com. It's a ripoff of Stubhub and they're quite shady. I had to have charges canceled from my credit card when I never received any tickets.

I use StubHub all the time. If I ever have any extra tickets that's where I sell them. If I ever need to buy any that's where I go. Craigslist is ok if you want to sell tickets but I personally wouldn't buy tickets off it, there is no guarantee the tickets are real.

my season tickets don't.

Could someone please make some mock-up "fake tickets" with MS Paint? I'd like to see someone try and get in to a game with those tickets, tape the whole thing and submit the video to the site. Brian should award the best submission a prize.

I usually am. Living in Vegas, I try and fly out to few games throughout the year. I'm in the process of trying to get good tickets to the OSU game. I usually try StubHUb and have had good results. I never tried Craigslist or exchange hut- I'll have to take a look

Yeaah... I was hammered and bought one of these for Notre Dame. I had literally gone straight from finishing my deployment, had 3 hours of sleep, and bought a fake ticket... It was moderately embarrassing.
