Was actually excited to see him make a contribution as an upperclassman, but the depth chart can be tough sledding and guys are undoubtedly reevaluating in light of COVID-19.  Wish him luck.

Interesting considering he was more highly regarded than some of his freshman lb classmates by composite but was much lower by 247.

seems kind of early to leave for depth chart reasons.

I don't know this kid's specific reason for entering the portal, but in general, the constant movement of players into the Portal is tainting the beauty of college football to me.  It is becoming to easy of a way out in my opinion.  This kid may have a legitimate reason, however, I am just saying making a general statement.

No, it is not. The transfer portal is giving young kids who believe they made mistakes to correct their mistakes instead of be screwed over. Many young adults leave a college after realizing early on some kind of fit issue.

I see it all the time. The portal is for players, not fans. Maybe relinquish your ideas of the player-fan relationship and think about these adults doing what is best for their lives.

As of late, St Juste?  I remember Keith Washington having a pick 6 the same day we lost a game and a good bunch of the message board bitching about that, but that’s just how things are around here.  We do have 2 former guys that will probably (?) start (?) for Rutgers this fall in Dwumfor and Singleton.  I don’t know about you but until proven otherwise I’d prefer to keep 100% of any plausible DT shaped objects.

One game and all that, but in watching the UT game on Saturday I'm guessing we didn't miss much on Solomon either.

300 pounder D-lineman from high school are such crap shoots I don't understand why anyone is surprised when it doesn't work out.

We've missed on a lot of them right now, which is why we are in a world of hurt on the D-line. Whether that's a function of Brown or Mattison being on the way out the door, we'll never know.

Just curious how you are rating those?  I assume the 247 composite.

He clearly was the 3rd best in practices - or 4th now that Wheeler is a full go.  (Remember West Bloomfield runs a version of Brown’s offense which would be an advantage.)

He was also 3rd best in 247’s rankings - (88 vs. 90 for Hill Green and Mullings even higher)

Side Note:  Resident “Michigan expert” over at the RCMB, Johnny 2x, noted that Savage was “one of our top recruits” in the class... To clarify (as I know he reads MGo religiously) while Savage would have been the TOP recruit in the MSU class - by a significant margin - he was #12 of 23 in the M class.

Good Luck Osman- I am sure the terps would be ecstatic to get you in the fold.

Remember, since this season does not count against eligibility, a true freshman could leave and not even give up his redshirt season.  Losing some amount of eligibility was always something that dissuaded people that were on the fence from jumping.  But now, an 18yo kid who's away from his family for the first time that gets homesick is liable to just toss his hands up and say "F*** it, I'm going home."  What's holding him back?
