That is all.
to play football, not to play trumpet
I do love me some michigan classics, but not when live college football is on for first time in 8 months
Random and I don't have enough points to start a topic, but did anyone see that Floyd Mayweather has bet 3 million dollars for the game on Saturday? He's got a lot of problems, but money aint one of em.
I believe that is now $9 million. This one time that we can point to the 100 point limit and say it worked...
Whenever I come across a new piece of sports related to Michigan I assume it's already on MGoBlog. I'm right 99% of the time.... scratch that, 99% of everything I find out about UM is because I read it here first.
EDIT: A multi-function remote control + PC streaming shouldn't be overrated IMO.
Live football on ESPN NOW!!
MN vs. UNLV
and the Air Raid offense is live on tv. Forget the 12-year old game.
UNLV unis are fucking repugnant.
I think that If I ever get to 100 points my first thread will be "2000 orange bowl and 2012 UTL on youtube now!!!"
So, I'm on a train to DC, so i figured i'd post this here...
I keep hearing "Michigan is hoping this game against Alabama will help restore them to national prominence..."
In all reality, last year was a more successful season in many ways than any year I experienced as a student at michigan (2002 season through 2005 season). Yes, we went to a couple of rose bowls, but came up short. Last year's team actually won a BCS bowl game. Didn't last year's team already establish that Michigan is back?
Will, I thought you learned this so long ago...the national focus and the real world do not often line up when it comes to Michigan football
You're right, must be the goose islands i had before hopping on the train. But, in all seriousness, I find that statement absolutely annoying, figured I'd throw the challenge flag on that statement. Or at least get others to think about it and provide their opinion.
Poor Minnesota. They try to schedule a game on a Thursday to gain a little exposure, and they get buried in this timeslot on a channel a lot of people don't get.
Can you imagine how much it would suck if our game were on right now, and might not end until after 2:00 a.m. on a weeknight? Thank goodness we're an A-list football program.
They were too a long time ago. Before 1935, Michigan's season finale was against minnesota because that was THE rivalry. The teams were so good.
But then, loads of horrible hires ruined their program and they've been wandering the wilderness for nearly 60 years.
They did have one good hire - Glen Mason. They never, ever should have let him go. He gave that program an identity and got them into bowl games on an annual basis. And that was when they were still playing in the Metrodome. With their new stadium he might have been able to step it up in recruiting. He should still be on their sidelines.
This, this, a thousand times this. Last year on the metro, while Gopherquest was still very much alive, I actually saw a Minnesota fan still wearing a "Fire Mason" T-shirt. I couldn't believe he still thought that was a good move. That really has to go down in history as one of the worst hiring/firing decisions of all time.
Ok, of course not, that's ludicrous. The coverage is pretty ugly though.
Also - is MN offense looking good, or UNLV defense that bad? I'm leaning towards the latter, because, obviously, gophers. Could have potential though.
That UNLV was 117 in total defense last year, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say their D is that bad
Don't worry. Minnesota is still terrible.
From the bits and pieces I have seen, the MN RB doesn't look terrible so far. I don't know if this is a product of the UNLV defense or him being actually pretty decent.
I admit it. I have a problem. I missed watching UNLV late night games. vs. Minnesota is a bonus.
10-10 tie middle of 4th.
Whenever I see the yellow "FINAL" score sign at the bottom I automatically think there is a flag on the play. Damn you CBS Sports.
Man, the offseason got to me more than I thought. I'm still watching this game.
Minnesota still can't stop the run.
13-13 2:39 remaining
19-13 UNLV OT. It's TD or die for Minnesota, or close enough. Play under review.
i don't know how they only put up 13 in regulation. they had 430 yds of offense.
Minnesota scores a TD on first play in 2OT.
Not another late hit!
minnesota has had 11 freaking penalties. that is crazy
UNLV scores a TD on 4th and 6. 3OT!?
UNLV's uniforms are every bit as big a reason to root for Minny as as is the fact that Minny is a B1G school.
I heard Scarlet & Gray mentioned on the PA. Drink!
I'm so glad that I live on the West Coast... This is great!
this is a pretty exciting set of ot's. nice way to cap off the opening night of football
Minny INT returned 40 yards. FG wins for the B10.
Everytime I see a QB throw an INT in overtime, I have a flashback to the '09 MSU game.
No doubt in my mind we should have gone for 2 after we scored with what like 4 seconds left? Go for 2 and play to win the game.
UNLV ices the kicker. Come on you Gophers!
30-27 Minnesota! Go Jerry Kill!
good job minnesota. i'd say gray was fairly solid and they ran the ball the well. good for them
Maybe the FBS should sit out a few plays. It's already been pretty embarassed by the FCS. McNeese beat MTSU. E Washington stomped Idaho. Minnesota tok 3OT to beat UNLV and SE Mo St nearly beat CMU
Did UNLV recently get demoted to the FCS? Last time I checked they were an FBS team just like Minnesota.
Yeah I know they're FBS but UNLV has been so bad recently that they might as well be FCS. This loss is probably more embarassing for Minnesota honestly than their loss to NDSU last year. UNLV has typically been one of the bottom 5 FBS teams while NDSU at least won the FCS title last year
EDIT: Except Minnesota still won. Still, Minnesota == Tire Fire
Yep, UNLV is in the Mountain West. They're FBS.
