Drew Sharp calls for RR firing

Submitted by GoBlueScott on
Just so you don't have to read it, this is a paragraph from Drew Sharp's column: "If it’s proven that Rodriguez broke NCAA rules, regardless of their practicality, Michigan has no alternative but to fire him — or risk exposing an internal hypocrisy of wanting to win the self-proclaimed 'Michigan way.'" Thoughts?

One, two, three, four, five....fifth. Drew Sharp is a moron. Tressel and OSU had how many recruiting violations and their athletic department laughed it off and used them as a way to show how honest everyone is. I know it isn't the same situation, but Christ Sharp, let's get some perspective. It has been said numerous times before, but this is a non-issue if we win 7 games last year.

Dull Drew should get no more space on this board, nor should he take up any more of anyone's time. Nothing he says will surprise anyone. In other words, my thoughts are - nobody cares anymore.

Sure and the feeling that, if the MSM has anything to do with it, my beloved Michigan Football will be non existant by this Saturday. I just want to crawl in a box and mail myself to Michigan Stadium post marked Saturday so I won't have to hear or see anymore of this bullshit. I can just wake up and walk in to the glory that is the Big House on game day. That is my heaven, if there is such a thing.

Sounds like Drew published a written version of yesterday's ESPN interview. When asked, he said that if Michigan loses to WMU this weekend "he's gone". Too bad the opinion of Drew Sharp carries zero weight in the decision. Are we really still visiting the Freep site and reading these articles???

If he continues with his baseless accusations and pointless ramblings why don't we just call for him to be fired??? I am sure our request will be given just as much merit as his calling for RR's.

That Fucktard is being occupied by Jay Mariotti. Woulda been perfect for Drew, the man who writes sports in order to get back at those kids who made the team in junior high when he had asthma and zero athletic ability.* I really wonder whether Drew has ever had sexual intercourse without paying for it. I think he's truly a miserable little man. * This is actually true. My brother had always insisted that Sharp's columns had the stink of failed athlete all over them, and then one day Sharp let it out in a column that, indeed, athletes need to be more grateful for what they have, because poor li'l Drew had asthma.

To use Drew's logic (scary to use that term I know), RR must be fired if we lose to WMU. So if we drop them 65-13 we will rename some highways around town for RR. When is the retraction for this whole Bullshit going to be printed?

If an investigation uncovers infractions and then if Michigan ignores them and does nothing, THEN it would be "an internal hypocrisy of wanting to win the self-proclaimed 'Michigan way.'" However, suppose an investigation uncovers infractions. Then, if the athletic department moves to self-penalize the football program with appropriate sanctions and makes moves to assure the same secondary violations do not occur, that is all that is necessary to continue "wanting to win self-proclaimed 'Michigan way.'" It does not necessitate firing the coach if moves are made to assure the same mistakes do not happen again. If your quote is correct (as I will not read the article), it is simply (and shockingly, ha) inflammatory and is simply meant to aggravate us further. Ignore him. Sharp clearly is trying to sensationalize the situation to elicit a response to sell more papers and receive more national attention.

If Rodriguez incurs sanctions (such as loss of scholarships), then he should be fired. But if he or his staff broke a rule one time and Michigan gets a slap on the wrist, he should be allowed to stay. We all break rules at our jobs and we're usually allowed some leeway, depending on the severity of the mistake.
