...but he's on the way. This tweet has been posted for the past 2-3 days. Folks have pretty much confirmed that he'll coach the Gators and head to A2. Also looks as if Roman is headed as the OC.

There was an article floating around during the search talking about Harbaugh's quirkiness. Recruit shows up to Stanford, Harbaugh and Durkin pretty much ignored him for a half hour while playing one on one bb game. It ended 3-3. Toughness!

However, Mattison obviously also goes to the DL.
People are also wanting Manning on the staff so that would be 4 LB coaches.

I've never really considered Mattison a LB coach, his first time doing that was with Baltimore. He has tons more years coaching DL.

Leavitt did well at South Florida against RR's spread offense(2-1 record, both wins against WV teams that were ranked in the Top 10). I think he would be a good fit to match up against OSU.

Staff is going to be full of promise. If Roman, Durkin, Wheatley, Jackson, and Manning are all there as rumored, that is a stable full of young guys that are going to get at it in recruiting and practice. And it's the making of an incredible coaching tree (although Jim already has one).

Former Florida Gators defensive coordinator DJ Durkin is headed to Anne Arbor. Sources have confirmed the announcement should come within the week. Durkin is the interim coach for Florida in it’s bowl game Saturday vs East Carolina. The Gators have had one of the top defenses in the country with Durkin at the helm and will be a great fit with new Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.
Coaching with the gators since 2010, Durkin has climbed the ladder to become one of the top defensive coordinators in the country. He also was one of the top recruiters for the gators and will provide a great presence in the state of Florida for the wolverines.
