Typically, I'm a firm believer of not letting family issues leave the house, but after the explosion of attention, it's nice to see a team leader have the team and coaching staffs back. Harbaugh will love this attitude.

Desmond doesn't know jack about Ondre's health situation.  People here are looking for any reason to support Harbuagh and that is fine.  But Morgan doesn't know how Ondre feels, he doesn't know what the doctors told him, and he wasn't part of the conversations between Pipkins and Harbaugh.

This is a situation where a player doesn't necessarily know more and has a vested interest in protecting the coach.  It is a good sign Morgan wants to defend Harbaugh, it doesn't prove anything about the situation because its not a situation Morgan would have knowledge of.  Only the doctors, Pipkins, and Harbaugh know.

Interestingly, it's a pretty similar situation. Desmond Morgan missed basically all of 2014 with an injury, and he has also had a couple concussions. It does not seem that Morgan is being "forced out" because the staff "needs a scholarship." If the coaches are interested in opening up as many scholarships as possible, then it would seem Morgan would be on the chopping block, too.

There was a right way to leave the team and wrong way. Pip chose the wrong way. He doesn't have to consult doctors to know that having a story in the paper with presumptuous quotes painting Harbaugh as a bad person (still not sure why he thinks the staff need his scholarship) isn't about playing at the next level, it's about Pipkins wanting the spotlight.

The two situations are quite different. One can still play while the other is threatened with a career ending before his eyes. At worst, he is being pushed off of the team...at best, he is a sad and frustrated kid in a really unfortunate situation. Not sure why you can't see that the two situations are quite different and that Pip has raw feelings.

Such raw feelings that he did an interview with a paper about them. I don't really care how everything went down, my point was that he could have shut his mouth and left the team without parting shots at Harbaugh. There is no reason to do a story about your feelings on the situation unless you want the spotlight. If he would have had anything concrete other than "I feel like he pushed me out the door for a scholarship that they aren't going to use," then I would feel a little more sympathy for him. As it is, he is similar to Boren. Takes shots at the program and coach on the way out with no actual evidence other than feelings. My opinion-he didn't get along with Harbaugh for whatever reason. He hears story about Harbaugh having a lot of turnover at Stanford. Gets the idea that is what Harbaugh is doing without actually thinking about scholarship situation. This reinforces his opinions on Harbaugh and he not getting along. He talks to the paper about leaving and how he thinks the team needs his scholarship, which they don't. I don't blame him for leaving, I blame him for taking shots while walking out the door

"There is no reason to do a story about your feelings on the situation unless you want the spotlight."

Or because he thought he wasn't being treated fairly and wanted to speak about it. He didn't bomb the whole program. He didn't go on a twitter war like that Illinois player. Pipkins said his piece and I have no problem with that. He's upset he's not playing football and not playing with his teammates anymore. This is not like Boren at all. Boren shit on all his teammates and transferred to OSU.

You say he has no evidence, but his evidence is his own body. Yes, he may be wrong and living dangerously playing with multiple concussions, but he has a nervous system. He can feel.

I don't think he's seeking the spotlight as many are saying.  I think he's just saving face, putting his spin out there.  The headlines are secondary to that.  Whatever opinion people may take away from this situation, he doesn't want anyone to conclude he's a bust, and can't play at a high level when healthy - which he claims he is.  That it's for reasons unrelated to him personally.

I feel for the position he's in.  I am sure he's upset, and it's human nature to react as he did.  I'm not going to judge him.

So if he was forced off the team using sec tactics you think he should have kept his mouth shut? I would not be proud of him if he were my son and he bowed down and quietly allowed himself to be a victim of such despicable tactics. Again, it depends on the premise you accept. I don't have enough info to believe either, so I chose not to judge. I'm just disappointed about how quickly our fanbase has become sec like.

I am not taking sides. I'm just asking others to not be so quick to criticize when they simply don't know anywhere close to all the information. Regarding judging people on this board, it's a different story. If this happened at any other school we would be getting on our high horse. It is just hypocritical how quickly we circle the wagons around our coach but don't consider other coaches situations before passing judgment. If you can't see that, I'm not going to be able to convince you.

Some of us are sceptical without trying to "circle the wagons around our coach".  I know, because i'm one of them.  The coach gains nothing in scollies by having this discussion with Pee Wee...so, i don't see the There, there.  Ruffled feathers and player pride are understandable, so i also don't have a problem with the player expressing his frustration.  But that's just it, the story is about a player's frustration--not a coach's callous actions to cut a guy for scholorship's sake.  We wish Pee Wee the best, but we also want a coach and medical staff to be real with player safety.  I would have thought the Morris fiasco would have taught us something.

if he is and i apologize fror not knowing as i don't know your roster. i mean do you really think a current player would say anything otherwise? and I'm not saying Pipkins isn't just a disgruntled young man who is having a hard time digest the fact that his hopes and dreams haven't worked out they way he thought they would after being a star his whole life. we are only getting pipkins side of the situation the same as the Jamel Dean situation @ TOSU!

I think it should stay inhouse, too, but if a player slags the coaching staff, all bets are off.  Harbaugh will take the high road because that's what he does.  He has to "be the better man."  However, when another player on the team stands up, it's the ideal situation.

Pipkins should have taken the high road.  He didn't.  He deserves whatever negative reaction he gets from fans or fellow players.

My guess is that Harbaugh doesn't want him speaking "word salad" or walking around on an artificial knee before he reaches 30.  Maybe Pipkins will be smart enough to realize that someday.

One correction... Harbaugh will take the high road because he has no choice but to take the high road. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think Michigan would be allowed to release any player's health information without consent. We may never know the truth as to what really happened.

I don't know him personally, and I dont have any insider information, but I've always gotten the feeling Morgan has played a huge part in keeping the defense together, even when last year's offense was abysmal.

From what I've seen, he is exactly the type of kid you want representing Michigan. Can't wait to see him healthy and back in action.

I think Morgan's point is that this should/could have stayed private had Pipkins kept it as such.

And LOL at all the posts about 'Doctor-Patient confidentiality' as if HIPPA is in any way relevant to Pipkins. Whatever happened ....it has nothing to do with any 'Doctor-patient' issues ...

Morgan called out Pip for going public and people are arguing about a secret Pipkins medical prognosis

It's not that complex or deep, kids.

Good. I'm sorry that it didn't work out Pip, but not every 5* makes it to the league. That's why you go somewhere to get a degree. Try not to burn bridges and make the institution that gave you a chance look bad in the process

The institution that gave him a chance? He was an incredibly coveted 5 star that gave Michigan a chance when they were a terrible program! They should be thanking him for putting his life on the line for them! They should be grateful that players like him lay thier lives on the line so that they as coaches and administrators can be millionaires while the players work for free.

Don't recall exactly when Pipkins committed, but Michigan was coming off an 11-2 season/BCS Bowl win when he enrolled.

So at that point the program was looking quite the opposite of terrible; obviously this sentiment was short-lived, though.
