Denard Robinson Crashes Car Into pond

Submitted by SHEAR WIZARDRY on
Just saw this on the local Jacksonville news. Upon arrival onto scene, the emergency personnel tried alerting him and he was asleep, perhaps unconcious. Link to story I'm sure will be added as story develops...

Look he is a young man, he probably just finished having great relations and was driving the girl home. Every one in this room knows that good relations makes you sleepy, hence the reason for both being sleep. I know when I finish, next thing I know the kids are waking me up and the sun is out. Let's just hope it only involved some John legend and good memories.

It's definitely a weird situation.  I first assumed the worst, but it really sounds like he just sort of...passed out.  But there was also a passnger.  I'm super-confused.

Poor guy fell asleep behind the wheel and drove into a pond because he's been practicing so hard and giving back to the community.  This is a good lesson for athletes everywhere not to let their professional and charitable commitments become so numerous that it drives them to the point of exhaustion.  Denard almost killed himself for us.

I've came to the conclusion that its a case of a deep sleep walk, or drive in this case brought on by the use of a sleep aid such as ambien or something similar. I've drove to stores and went without any recollection of such. Moving forward I think proper steps will be made to prevent such events from happening.

Weed makes you paranoid as hell while driving. High people tend to drive REAL SLOW and REAL CAREFUL. Only done it once myself and I was never so focused in my entire life. I have friends who regularly drive high though, and they are usually better at driving high than driving sober.

I have a feeling he was either on something harder, or maybe the Carbon Monoxide theory. I could've bought him falling asleep if he hadn't had that total non-freakout about driving into a pond. But no, let's not have a double standard when it comes to athletes from other schools compared to athletes from ours.

My friends that played football in college got really hooked on pain pills. I remember those dudes would take oxys, and they would literally doze off in the middle of a sentence. I remember playing Madden one time, and my friend's player just randomly started running backwards. I looked over and he was passed out sitting Indian style on the floor with the controller still in his hand.

Who among us hasn't been the responsible friend who drives everyone home after a long night, accidentally turns on a radio set to A Prairie Home Companion, and instantly falls asleep before driving into a pond That weaponized boring is a menace. It must be off our streets, it must be stopped.

are fine. My guess like what happened to me driving so tired I could barely stay awake and finally pulled over before I did fall a sleep. I wasn't drinking or smoking anything mind altering. I was on my way home from work after a midnight shift I volunteered for and  simply should not have been driving. This could be simular in that they should have got a room instead of trying to make it home. I also wonder if the car was filling with carbon monoxide poisoning while they were asleep which would explain the lackadaisical reaction when told they were in danger.

Sounds like he prefers the pond. Natural spring you know.

P.S. Is that what you wanted, MGrowOld? A little self-deprecating humor?
