Denard Robinson's Drive

Submitted by Keeeeurt on
First, sorry if this was already brought up but a quick search didn't produce any results. Secondly, was anyone else extremely excited about Robinson's first real drive. He ran quite a bit but he also showed that he can pass in the first drive that was an actual drive and not just a crazy ninja, omg run moment from him. Granted those snaps worry me but I'll forgive it with one being a snap he wasn't ready for.

i think denard has eyes in the back of his head. every time that he is dancing through defenders im holding my breath hoping that he doesnt get destroyed by a defender from behind. he has an uncanny ability to feel pressure coming and make guys miss.

It was a nice drive, but Koger made a good catch. It was thrown a bit behind and he had to reach to his other shoulder. But it was definitely progress for DRob.

I was quite excited for the drive, in large part because our rushing offense had been our largest offensive advantage and having Robinson in at QB meant that we would (1) be running more often, and (2) be able to use the QB run as part of the offense more effectively (i.e., without worrying about the health of the QB on every hit).

I don't think the snaps were really either QB's faults. Moosman was not doing well with those snaps AT ALL. I'm hoping he really improves on that this week or we find somebody else to snap the ball. He was throwing it all over the place. It hasn't been a problem at all this year untill this game. I expect an improvement.

not likely. Keep in mind Tate is playing with the poise and polished-ness (?) of an upperclassman QB (making the right reads... most of the time, moving within the pocket, keeping his eyes downfield, good touch on passes, polished ballfakes) whilst making some typical freshman mistakes. Denard is playing like a raw freshman QB and making freshman mistakes. Denard has shown improvement, though, and lets just hope MSU doesn't crowd the line every play. We will need points in this game, because MSU's offense can move the ball (and our D can't stop a MAC team).
