DEFCON 1 over at Eleven Warriors
First, pounded by Michigan.
Now their coveted boy wonder is heading to Wisconsin.
Just hate to see it...

He's already 0-1 against us. Guess that means he's starting on the on deck circle?
November 27th, 2022 at 3:09 PM ^
0-2 if you count Fickell's loss with Cincinnati against us.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
so not even on deck... he's in the hole
November 27th, 2022 at 2:56 PM ^
They still have Kerry Coombs to bring back.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
Cinci named Coombs the interim HC. He'll land on his feet.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:56 PM ^
My favorite comment “Fick would walk to Columbus for the job.”
lol, where have I heard that before? Would love to see Fickell at OSU again after wins in 2023/2024 over Day.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
Yea, I like the arrogance of the fans. Their attitude may change, especially if Fickle stomps OSU at Camp Randall next year.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
especially if Fickle stomps OSU at Camp Randall next year.
Hell, I'd travel to Wisconsin to see that
November 27th, 2022 at 4:53 PM ^
Same. Please invite me. Road trip!
November 27th, 2022 at 6:35 PM ^
Buckeyes fans sure cooled on Minnesota HC (OSU alum & former position coach) Glen Mason after he beat OSU in 2000, iirc.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
I love Buckeye tears and have been listening to various reaction podcasts and they are losing their shit. The Buckeye Talk podcast suggested removing all the memorabilia in The Woody Hayes Building, the trophies and historical stuff until OSU earns it back by beating TTUN
November 27th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
They are dramatic.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:42 PM ^
Buddy of mine just told me he's hearing there is a police presence at Day's house because of death threats. Dramatic doesn't scratch the surface.
November 27th, 2022 at 6:48 PM ^
That's fucked up, but 100% believable.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:54 PM ^
I literally read every single comment in the thread about us planting the flag on the O. Could not stop reading. For the short version: we have no class but they are soft for not starting a fight with us to defend their field when we did that. Love that Buckeye logic. Top notch entertainment right here friends: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/the-game-2022/2022/11/135323/michigan-plants-team-flag-on-the-block-o-at-midfield-of-ohio-stadium-following-the-wolverines-45-23#comments

Woah. The one regarding the rivalry: “nothing is more important. This isn’t a game, this isn’t entertainment. The next year is darkness and misery in Ohio.”
rivalry aside, I actually feel bad for these people. Their well-being in life for an entire year rides on the result of one game in which they have nothing to do with.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:30 PM ^
Yeah…that one stood out to me too. But there are so many gems.
November 27th, 2022 at 6:38 PM ^
They are sooooo accustomed to winning and thoroughly convinced that last year’s loss was a fluke.
November 27th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
Nothing more than the thought of the black pit of negative expectations--an acknowledgement that such a thing might actually exist. This is nothing compared to staring down the belly of the beast as you're swallowed whole. Welcome to hell.
November 27th, 2022 at 7:33 PM ^
It is sad. There are many many people in Ohio for whom this is all they have. Many many more than in Michigan or most normal states.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:28 PM ^
How very... Sparty... Of them.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
I can't believe so many people are that impressed by Luke Fickel as a coach. I just don't see it.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
Exactly. He is the one OSU coach we actually beat during our shit years vs OSU.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
He took Cincy to the playoffs last year as the first non-Power 5 school to make the playoffs?
November 27th, 2022 at 3:13 PM ^
Look at that schedule man. Miami, Murray St. Indiana, Notre Dame, UCF, Navy, Tulane, Tulsa, USF, SMU, East Carolina, Houston.
November 27th, 2022 at 6:42 PM ^
He still got them through it - that's not an easy thing to do in any conference. Besides, I do like the way he runs his program. His offense is a modern college operation, and the defense is always tough because that's his specialty.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
I think people give Fickell too much shit for that 2011 season. While that team had a lot of talent, some of the best of it did not play for most of the season (e.g., Devier Posey, who had a couple touchdowns against Michigan).
Most importantly, Terrelle Pryor did not play at all in what would have been his senior year, and Pryor was left with Joe Bauserman, who really should have never seen the field, and freshman Braxton Miller.
I think his biggest mistake was not starting Braxton Miller earlier. More experience would have helped that offense later in the year and his running ability might have won a few of the early games they lost with the ineffective Bauserman.
Having said that, we'll see how good Fickell actually is. I'm not convinced he would be the home run hire that fans of some programs think, but odds are fair that he does a good job for the Badgers.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
He had a good team but I think them getting into the playoff was more for sentimental reasons they weren’t one of the 4 best teams.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:17 PM ^
Right!?
It's relatively easy to have an undefeated season at Cincinnati, especially when Notre Dame is on your schedule. That's why so many coaches have done it, no?
Geez, I don't know what it is about the posters here who have to say every coach everywhere else sucks. Give the guy credit -- he's obviously done an outstanding job at Cincinnati.
Does that mean he's going to do the same thing at Wisconsin? Nope. There are very few guarantees in life, except that the Wolverine's best offensive player will get seriously injured right before the Ohio State game. But damn, we can't say "he's done a fantastic job at Cincinnati?" CINCINNATI?
November 27th, 2022 at 6:17 PM ^
Advanced analytics like SP+ had them like 4th or 5th. They were a good team with NFL talent equivalent to P5 champions, but with less depth.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:35 PM ^
I didn’t get it either. Then I saw a 30-minute piece on him in ESPN or whatever, and by the time it was over I wanted to figure out how my over the hill ass could go play for him.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
Wonder how it’s looking in Sparty Land with them not being bowl eligible. No doubt Tuck is still Comin’ more than likely…
November 27th, 2022 at 3:12 PM ^
I almost forgot they exist, to be honest.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:46 PM ^
Yeah no kiddin, Now that OSU has been relegated to our little brother, Sparty seems to be have mangy family dog status at this point.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
Red haired stepchild?
November 27th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
....with a stutter.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:35 PM ^
….left handed, nose picker.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:42 PM ^
picker-eater.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:14 PM ^
We need to start a GoFundMe to by Tuck a ring… with this years score on it!
November 27th, 2022 at 7:34 PM ^
Well their season is over, so as far as this college football year is concerned, they don’t.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
I believe they're in position to be invited to a bowl based on APR as 1 of 3 5-7 teams that have to fill the last 3 of 84 bowl slots.
They say they haven't decided if they'll accept a bowl invite yet.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
Not so fast my friend! Just saw 3 other teams listed as the top APR schools (Rice, UNLV, and Auburn). And those programs seem like the type to accept the invite.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
When you are behind Auburn in academic excellence that says a lot...
November 27th, 2022 at 3:21 PM ^
Why would they pass on 15 extra practices? Not like they have to study.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:11 PM ^
Hey man, thats a lot of MMA training time to give up.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:00 PM ^
I could be wrong but I read somewhere you can't decline a bowl game in the BIG.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
Tuck goin'...
November 27th, 2022 at 4:09 PM ^
They still have a chance due to lack of 6 win teams and 5-7 teams. But based on academic excellence which is how they invite the next few teams they are behind Rice and tied with Auburn. Yes that Auburn who doesnt have a single kid attend class..
November 27th, 2022 at 5:18 PM ^
I would really really really like for Michigan to win the next two -- or better yet, three -- against MSU. I want to reestablish not just competitiveness, but dominance. That shit got awfully annoying the last few years.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:18 PM ^
Who gives a shit about them?
