For all the Rod Moore NB or S talk...for me it comes down to a couple of things.

1. Is Zeke Berry ready to step in for Dax Hill?

Let's assume no.

2. Is Michael Barrett returning?

If so, I think it's simple...you basically rotate Barrett and Makari Paige depending on the situation.

Colson-NHG-Barrett

Turner-Gray

Moore-Moten

...when you sub...

Colson-NHG

Turner-Gray-Moore (NB)

Paige-Moten

...the last "IF"

If Barrett leaves...

I would move Turner to NB, start Gray and Green at CB and Moore and Moten at safety.

Turner has proven he can hang with guys 1 v 1 and hold the edge (see Northwestern game). If someone runs a slot fade...Turner is the guy you want covering the receiver.

Excellent point.

He is truly a "Bama" type player that got away (from them). Ultra talented from Day 1.

Was fun watching him shut guys down.

Even last year, he was always in someone's hip pocket, best CB we had last year and it wasn't even close.

I don't see a 1st rounder, but I see a guy who will be in the league a long time.

WHAT???  I'm STUNNED!  STUNNED, I tell you!!!

   -- Said no one, ever

Good luck in the League, Dax - we'll miss you here, but will savor the memories always.  And thank you for choosing us over Bama.  I really hope it was worth your time and energy, because we sure as hell appreciated it...

Not a surprise, and I wish everyone the best.  But, can we just rip this band-aid off and get these out of the way?  I get my feels are low priority, but still, just a preference.

Likely a 1st or 2nd round pick so no surprise.   Good luck in the NFL.  As a Lions fan he's on my radar with our 2nd round pick.  Maybe even the Rams pick depending on how things fall.

Dax Hill to the NFL, but what about Jim Harbaugh?  Will the administration and athletic director force his hand by not wanting to be competitive with the top schools

Good luck to him. Our defense next year will have their work cut out for them. We will be very young and inexperienced. Yikes

Maybe it’s the Covid year, or just the new paradigm of college football but it feels so fleeting that we get root for some of these guys these days. Dax, Hinton, etc.. feels like they just got here. I’m glad for the players and won’t begrudge any for their decisions, they’ve earned it. Just seems so brief now! Or maybe I’m just old. Go get yours, Dax!

I think it’s 100% the COVID year as it it made it feel like that year didn’t even count (partly because of how weird the shortened season was with no fans and partly due to blocking it out because of how bad we were) which is why it feels like Mayfield, McGrone, Dax, Hinton were hardly here but it definitely felt like we got to see guys like DPJ, Ruiz, Long, Gary, Bush, Jabrill, Funchess, Manningham play for a while and grow.

His career reminds me of Rashan gary. I'll just leave at that so we all don't have to argue about it. Wish he stayed but I get why he's going! Best of luck and thanks for breaking Wisconsin's QB in half

First of all, Gary was a highly effective player. I think he’s a major reason why Chase Winovich elevated to the player he became and Gary set the edge extremely well, and was picked 12th in the draft.

Secondly, Covid year stole one of our precious years with Dax….but we were so lucky to have him play the way he did both as a freshmen and this year

Dax - That hit you put on Graham Mertz was a thing of beauty - perfect painful form tackle! Not gonna lie, you were one of those players I would've loved to have another year in MacDonald's defense. But give em hell at the N-F-L you've earned it.

Different skill set for sure

But better UM career:

Peppers or Dax?

Both were great and I think will stick around in the league. Heck I wish we had both at the same time! That’s what we need to hang in the CFP

think I would give the slight edge to Peppers but it probably depends on what D scheme you run
