Interesting that he chose Tennessee when they weren't in contention before last week. Also one thing he mentioned earlier this summer is that he was looking for teams to be successful on the field. Tennessee was 5-7

Sometimes these things happen.  Doesn't always have to be the "bagman" theory.

If you remember, many moons ago, Sammy Watkins (per Tom VH) was all but signed, sealed and delivered to Michigan.  He makes one trip to Clemson and commits out of nowhere.

Sometimes a place just feels like "home".  Perhaps Tennessee felt that way to Crouch.  That, or in 3-5 years we will hear that Pruiett's best friends are hookers.  Both likely scenarios.

Well, I'm 42 years old and have been in the Biotech industry for almost 20 years.  I'm not running the country (thank the Good Lord), but I think me / my generation are doing just fine.  Also, have yet to have my direct manager bring in posting history into my year end review...so there's that too.

So true. Tennessee realizes that they need to start playing the 'crootin game with the rest of the $EC.

Give them 2 years and they will be on probation from that stellar organization known as the NCAA.

Their fanbase is tired of being an afterthought,  so easy to find some extra cash to spread around.

Nothing fishy going on there - just some bagman cash.

And I have no problem with it either.  A bunch of rich old dudes want to give some bags of cash to talented young dudes who often come from families in need - absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Fuck the NCAA and their hypocrisy, Michigan should be spreading the wealth too.  Stephen Ross, Don Graham and Bobby Kotick would happily give a few hundred grand each year to get a few more top 50 types.  Hell, I would even kick a grand or two.  If I knew the money was going to a good family, why not?

if ass-clown Mark Emmert gives back his salary next year, I will change my view.

Interesting point!  If the payment is linked specifically with the player playing for the team, it would be income tax for the player.

if the payment is just a token of appreciation then it is gift tax for the bagman - but only amounts more than $14k per bag man (this would be the loophole I guess).

I have a problem with it, because it's not a level playing field.  Schools like Michigan try to do things the right way, and the NCAA turns it's back on the all mighty $EC.  If we did decide to start passing some payments onto players you know we'd get hammered.

I agree that I have no problem with these kids getting paid.  They are generating serious cash, and it's only fair that they get to share in it.  But until it's declared perfectly legal for all teams, it needs to be against the rules for all teams, and the NCAA needs to actually enforce it.

I always thought the school that would get punished would be Kentucky get the football team in the collateral of the basketball teams punishment. I didnt think it would come tot point where they have to go after one of the middle of the pack teams who cant do much in the conference.

“I picked Tennessee because the fanbase really moved me … TO A BIGGER HOUSE!!!  Uh oh, I said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet!  Oh Crouchy, you moron!”

Glad its over. Crouch always seemed like a longshot when it was between Clemson and Michigan. Then randomly Tennessee was the big time favorite.

TBH I don't think beating OSU and making the playoffs would make a difference with him considering he was clearly $hopping his talents by choosing Tennessee over Michigan and Clemson

Were stacked at LB anyways. If I had to choose between Dax or Crouch itd be Dax all day as speed in the secondary is clearly something we needed most
