Are you familiar with the UHMS and the HBO Indications Manual?  The whole point is to treat only indications that have reasonable evidence; the Manual exhaustively discusses and cites the best known literature with level-of-evidence based recommendations.  Granted, it's not all Level 1, but much of medicine isn't.

I'm hoping Blake is fine but this language from JH was a bit unsettling:

"They have to go back in and we'll see where it is tomorrow, how it feels tomorrow," Harbaugh said.

Serious athletes play with pain and minor injuries all the time. We needed Blake big time in the second half. Fingers crossed that it was a temporary setback and he will be his amazing self next Saturday.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Harbaugh sometime can be very stubborn. It seems like he didn't want to risk BC's health. According to other threads, there were other starters who were available if needed. Yet, in the critical 4th quarter, none of them played. Harbaugh does have ice in his veins, probably from coaching/playing in NFL where close games are a norm.

This 100%.

An xray will reveal bone fractures or injuries.

They definitely do not reveal any tendon or ligament/meniscus damage. The trainers did a manual Lachman's test on Corum, obviously this was a negative test but the manual method definitely isn't 100% reliable.

MRI is diagnostic test #2, which is beyond protocol for exact injuries like this.

It’s different because you’re an out of shape keyboard warrior and an anonymous internet tough guy, so what I really want to know how resilient you were when you banged your head on the desk bending over to pick up your “I’m the best” coffee mug pieces.

But I’m sure you can judge internal biomechanics on sight just like the poster, because you’ve got amazing bounce back from desk injuries .

Harbaugh said in the post game radio interview Blake's knee was evaluated at half time, and thought it best not to let the knee bruise get any worse after the one play in second half.  Even a deep knee bruise could be a problem.  Cautiously optimistic here too. Let's just hope Blake recovers and he an Donovan are ready to go next Saturday with everyone else including Trevor, Mike, and Luke.

Had a similar injury (not that we know what it is exactly), but it was a knee bruise like they are saying. I will say it was painful, I had to lift my leg into my car by grabbing my pants and lifting it, it also swelled when I tried to jog on it. I was ready a week later at about 95%. Hopefully it is something similar

75% is better than RB3 or RB4.

He may be in rough shape tomorrow but much better by Friday. Illinois RB couldn’t put weight on his leg a week ago and he damn near ran for 150.
