The worst win in Michigan history.....
.....is still a win. The defense better be ready next week.

Let me get it started. I am sitting here absolutely steaming. It feels like a loss. This defense simply cannot withstand. They were gashed by air, land and if it were possible they's give up points and yards by sea too. And those weren't Big Ten athletes out there. As great as I felt leaving Notre Dame Stadium last week, I feel completely shitty right now. Over reaction? Maybe. But what will Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, hell even IU, do to this D? And what adjustments will those defenses make to not allow us to put up 42 points?

Our offense was our best defense in this game...either the defense is just that bad and we just didn't realize it or they brushed off this week as we were playing UMass and just had an off game, I'm hoping its the latter

Damn Rotel & Velveeta commercials! They make me sick! ARRRRRRGH!!!!!!11!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!

A W sounds good to me. Still have a lot of tricks up our sleeves.
Plus those guys looked pretty fast.
Go Blue

Just glad we got the W.

Ok first off, thank god we got that win or we wouldn't ever field a football team again!! Great job Shoelace and Mike Martin...the only two consistent members of the team. Now on to what could be the WORST D EVER since the RR era began. Being stuck in the land of "wooo pig soooey" and listening to the SEC garbage day in and day out, the first thing on the sports radio here in Little Rock after the Piggy game was a small tidbit about their D cord being wooed by big name programs and of course " MIchigan biggest team in need ". Do we really have to suffer thru another 5-0 start just to be BLOWN APART by the rest of the Big Ten? Our D line was blown off the ball almost every down!! The soft DB/S coverage is horrendous...Kovacs is still outta his league most of the time but is an amazing fighter just the same. Where in the HECK are our LBs?!?! Ezeh is garbage and Mouton can be brilliant one play then look like a 6th grader playing powder puff football!! Robinson wasnt good in the NFL...he was horrible as a HC at Cuyse...why are we pandering to him??? With our D issues we should be knocking on the door of every top defense recruit and saying " would you like to make a difference and make Michigan credible again? " I dont think i can stand to see everyone get pumped and then utterly destroyed by the rest of the Big Ten!!

Don't forget about Shaw in that talk. He had a great game also.
Also, I wouldn't necessarily say GERG needs to go, but I would certainly start looking into finding a replacement for Tony Gibson. He controls the secondary AND special teams. And guess where the team is lacking the most?

GET OFF THE DAMN FIELD.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
Go F yourself, not hitting the QB on the 1yd line. Completely holds himself up, lets him get in to score... You must be joking me, chance to unload at full speed and holds back.
Crabel might have been a liability - late hits out of bounds/cant block of FG duty. But he sure as shit would've hit someone...

When I read your comment, that's all I could decipher.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:45 PM ^
just cause you are so f'ing irrational. lmao
September 18th, 2010 at 5:55 PM ^
It was a close call - hit him when he is defenseless, maybe you get a penalty and possibly suspended for the next game. Who knows. It was a tough situation, and I won't knock a guy for not having the default urge to knock a guy's head off in a close situation like that.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:44 PM ^
and toughness is what gets me. Michigan for years had always been known for hitting hard and often. We just don't have guys who consistenty want to punish someone. Exhibit A is Ezeh. He has the physical skills but not the real desire to hit someone hard that a great linebacker needs.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:49 PM ^
Kellen Jones will fix that when he's on campus. He looooves to hit people.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:48 PM ^
Notre Dame must feel like ass that UMass was able to score more than they could.
September 18th, 2010 at 4:59 PM ^
I overheard Gerg telling DRob that the D "had his back" to make sure he got enough touches to stay in the Heisman race.
That is the only explantation I am willing to accept at this point.
September 18th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
I know they're having open try-outs for the placekicker, but can we have some open try-outs for the defensive coordinator position too? This is embarassing.
September 18th, 2010 at 5:23 PM ^
Ya, I know right? What happened to our defense? I thought they were supposed to be really good and junk?
GERG'S FAULT!
September 18th, 2010 at 5:59 PM ^
At some point we have to stop blaming those kids and look at the big picture. I know we were not supposed to be good but not being able to stop a D-1AA team at home is unnacceptable. I don't care what you think,it is GERG'S FAULT. He's got some talent in that defense and 439 yards against UMass is more embarrasing to the coaches then the players. I usually not blame the coaches but you can't tell me that GERG got his defense ready to play today.
September 18th, 2010 at 6:09 PM ^
UCONN: 343 yards given up
Notre Dame: 532 yards yards given up
UMASS: 439 yards yards given up
Our D has been fairly consistent, albiet consistently bad, but what did you expect? Go read the decimated defense series.
Had our freshman punter not fumbled away a snap, and our freshman safety not fumbled away an interception, the outcome of this game would have been considerably different.
Our D has held up well enough for us to be 3 and 0. I'm sorry if it's not pretty enough for you, or if your dick shrinks 2 inches every time we almost lose to an FCS school.

You kinda make my point here. What do I expect from our defense? To be mediocre at least, or that is too much to ask.
What is your argument that GERG is a good coach? 3-0. I think we are 3-0 in spite of our defense. I'm not anti RR, I actually think he's gonna be great here, but GERG sucks and he got to go.
Speaking about my dick, don't worry, all I have to do is look at your open mouth avatar and I grow the 2 inches back. By the way; Do you have a small dick complex? Does your 6000 mgopoints makes you smarter then other people in here with les points and allows you to talk like that?
