In Arlington TX for the Big 12 Championship Game.

Go TCU!

It's a joke.  Is OSU better than USC, sure.  Is Bama better than TCU, probably.  But if they want to just put in the 4 most "talented" teams (seems they just look at recruiting rankings for this) we'd be looking at

UGA

Bama

Texas A&M

OSU

this year. Putting in 2 loss Bama (which could just as easily be unbeaten or have 4 losses) is ridiculous.  They've been mediocre, by their standards, at best this year. Who has OSU beaten?  mediocre Notre Dame?  PSU at home in a close game going into the 4th?

To have a team that lost its last game by 22 at home, didn't win its division or even play for a conference championship is nuts.  If they want to just do the "talent" thing, might as well put Bama in over OSU.

Teams sitting at home on Championship weekend and getting rewarded is ridiculous.

TCU vs Kansas St is not a sure win for TCU. If TCU loses I think Alabama is in because of strength of schedule. With he reputation of the Big 12, TCU doesn't have a certain hook to hang their strength of schedule hat on.

I guess I will go back to my principal point, Kansas St is 9-3, with a loss at home to Tulane. I don't know if TCU survives that is they lose today.

But really, they should win today. But it would be fun if both TCU and Georgia lose today. What would the Top 4 be then!

Putting in a team with 2 losses and elimination before conference championship weekend over a 1 loss team who didn’t lose until the conference championship game they qualified for is a hell of a stretch.

But that doesn’t mean they won’t do it.

TCU beat a lot of teams that are in top 25 without a true top 5 team win. No season will be perfect. You can only play who you got and they played a decent strength of schedule. Bama got plenty of opportunities and messed up. I would not compare TCU to Bama or OSU

When you have two losses and your best win is over a 4 loss Texas team without their starter QB, spare me the strength of schedule bullshit.

There are 4 teams that will have zero or one loss. Bama is out

TCU would have the best win (vs. Kansas State), although that would negated a bit because they would have lost in the title game.  Both teams next best win is Texas, ranked 20th, with TCU looking better in that one than Alabama.  TCU would have one loss, and Alabama will have two, both on the last play of the game.

It may come down to how bad TCU would have lost today.  I would think TCU would have the edge, especially if their loss is close.  But it's possible that Alabama could be picked.

But Kansas S being 9-3, with 1 of the 3 being a loss to Tulane at home, is a mark against TCU if they lose.

TCU would be in a precarious spot if the lose. And I think rightly so.

Alabama has 2 losses. But both were very close losses to good teams on the road.

Conference Championships played on "neutral fields" should have a bearing on things. If TCU loses to Kansas St on a "neutral field", with having already beaten them on their home field during the regular season, it could be saying that TCU was "exposed for who they really are". And maybe that would be right.

Jay Bilas has an interesting take on this when it comes to the NCAA men's basketball tournament.  His idea is that teams should be selected prior to their conference tournament, and the conference tournament should only be used to get teams in that weren't already selected in the tournament, not to help bubble teams get in.

I wonder if college football could do something similar.

Yeah…he kinda fits the Barstool/dudebro/WWE angle that they’re going for here. It definitely appeals to many—but it’s not for me.

I mean, I was listening to some random college football show on SiriusXM yesterday, and they brought on AJ Styles for his “expert analysis,” just because he’s a Georgia fan.

I wonder if they would be willing to trade something simple like, say, the weather....

What a fucking miserable day here in Metro Detroit - again. We need some great results, oour own hopefully included, to lighten the mood.

This is going to be a big problem for the Committee on balancing one loss Ohio State (who got blown out at home) versus two loss Alabama (who lost twice on the road at the last second and in overtime). I hate Alabama as much as anyone, but their two losses were by WAY less than Ohio State’s one loss, with both on the road and both to highly ranked opponents.
