The recounting of "Let's Go Zak!" and the crowd picking up the team was something I didn't know about and good to hear.  It also helped put Blake scoring on the next play into some more context.

Edit:  Here is a link to the podcast -- which has more description -- that Robbie Moore refers to below (where Joel Klatt talks about the stadium after Zak Zinter's injury:  https://youtu.be/kYKnvx1quLc?si=D05IMAGuWx4-MyTi&t=1786

"Something happened that I've never experience before....I've tried to tell this story twice and I didn't get through it without crying." - Joel Klatt (on the podcast)

Edit 2:  stephenrjking links to Cinematic Highlights (from the Big Ten).  You can hear the crowd start to chat about 30 seconds after this link (4 minutes in)

Brian linked to a Klatt podcast at the end of his post game recap on Monday. When Klatt talked about the Zac injury and the crowds spontaneous chants you could hear the emotion in his voice. It wasn't a Michigan moment to him but rather a magnificent football moment. And a true hat tip to 110,000 fans.

I was sitting midway up in Section 3 and the first thing I thought I heard break the silence when Zak was down on the field was a chant coming from the top of the stadium in the SE corner where a pocket of OSU fans were sitting.  Sounded like they were chanting something for OSU.  My initial thought was that it was bush-league for OSU fans to chant while Zak was still down, but it was immediately completely drowned out by the "lets go Zak" chant.  Not 100% certain it was an OSU chant by OSU fans but it sure sounded like it.  Did anyone else hear that?

What's most remarkable about this team is it's the most hated team in college football, yet it is filled with more leaders and selfless individuals than any team in the country.

Here's how I assume this went down:

In a production meeting, Desmond learned what the plan was with Thamel and objected. Producers told Desmond to suck on it and like it. Desmond said, I'm going to talk about this on air. After they could not dissuade Desmond, they planned out how that was going to go, which is why Reece was so quick to insert his comment he practically was cutting off Desmond. Reece was so uncomfortable, couldn't even look Dez in the eye. It was wonderful.

Most provocative thing I heard there was Cowherd's conviction that the B1G is going to be offering really compelling football starting next fall. And it got me to thinking that this year really might have been the capper to the MI-OSU rivalry as we know it, because we're going to have four more teams along with the end of those divisions.

That's correct. In the future, The Game will just be a game.  Five buck says that it gets moved off the last Saturday in the next conference schedule scheme, to remove the chance that the two will play again the next Saturday.

College football as we knew it is dead, and it died choking on all the Big Money.

As frustrating as it can be sometimes to watch us slog through the conference schedule because we're just using it as a practice for The Game, I've actually enjoyed that part of the dynamic (especially the last three years, obviously). I would think the rest of the country and the conference especially would find it incredibly boring. So, objectively, the new Big Ten will be better.

The Big Ten West is 0-9, soon to be 0-10, in the conference championship game. Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska really did not do their job.

The Zak moment (chants, that is) was truly incredible and then Blake's scamper to the corner for a TD was idyllic.

The only thing missing was having Keith Jackson being alive and calling that TD run saying...it's a footrace to the corner, Touchdown, Blake Corum!!!!!

That moment when as something any of us there will never forget. Zak is a LEGEND. It was surreal. Klatt explained it very well for those who weren’t there. I’ll always remember that game and that moment and that team.

"Jim Harbaugh has never lied to me."

Such a great track record to have. Harbaugh is one of the straightest, most honest people in sports. The notion that he would actively promote or approve cheating is absolutely ridiculous.

Could he be so hands-off that crap flies under his radar? Sure, I can see that happening. But I could never see him actually lying and cheating.

Great segment..... I appreciate both of these guys even though Klatt annoyed the ever loving shit out of me announcing the game. First time ever I typically love Klatt. I can only wonder if that was a directive from the network itself to be pro once side. Their conversation about how Jim has caught the ire of powerful people they don't even know the name of couldn't be truer. This has nothing to do with signs or whatever it has to do with the flow of money and the way a bunch of old crusty dudes run something. I appreciated their take on the courage Jim has to influence change solid sound take and even these two have to tip toe because they may be employed ultimately by some of these people. Its encouraging to hear them at least understand what the actual problem is and mildly support Jim
