Coach Hatbaugh SMSB Interview - Football manna in June!
I'm a big fan of Coach Hatbaugh.
FIRE HATBAUGH!
FIRE BACKITCH!
That would be Coach Harbaugh - not his 5th cousin twice removed Coach Hatbaugh.

??
I assume you meant Shemy.
Thanks for the summary but watched that segment a couple times.
Hah, sorry about that. I just copy/pasted from a free summary tool so can't take credit nor (as much) blame!
Kind of had the feeling there was an AI involved here.
Excellent summation sir. Oh but that I’m only allowed one upvote here.
thank you.
if it's a chat summary, the veracity (voracity) is questionable. harbaugh could've talked about the peloponnesian war effort and its effects on naval power in the 5th century BC and we'd never know.
You think? I'd have thought that Craig Ross would be all over that! Maybe with that other old man, Alex Cook.
Thanks for the summary. I wasn't going to watch the whole video. I assume the trip to Sacramento may refer to the Holocaust museum?
Really interesting interview because it's not all fluff. Some points I found interesting:
1. He confirms the team went to Zekelman's Holocaust museum in mid April (before the team trip).
2. Accepts blame for the Schemy situation and says it does not represent the football program. Says that a third party vetting company gave him the okay (and did not alert Michigan to his Twitter likes). Says they now have a new vetting company because of this incident. "There are no sacred cows here" which is a bit of a controversial statement to me. The rest of his response was good.
3. Says 4 assistant coaches could be head coaches next year. Claims all assistants will be head coaches at one point in their careers.
Sounds like 2024 is going to be a massive rebuilding effort. Likely losing Edward's, Corum, JJ and a ton of others. Add on the likelihood of multiple coaches getting poached. 2024 may be bumpy. Let's enjoy this year without complaints.
Our schedule for 2024 is going to be insane. Texas, Ohio State, MSU for sure, and probably 3/6 of USC, Penn State, UCLA, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska. And 2025-2027 will be the same, just sub Oklahoma for Texas in two of the years. I'm excited.
Hmmm. The RBs will be replaced just fine. Recruiting well there. JJ would face some steep competition in the ‘24 draft. Probably fourth or fifth QB right now.Would make more sense for him to comeback.
Harbaugh has been consistently good at finding quality assistants.
UM should be good once again in ‘24. Young, but good. Maybe not conference favorites good, but good. Texas, MSU, and maybe PSU at home.
Call me crazy but I could see Edwards and J.J. coming back…
The precedent has been set with Hutchinson, Corum, and a few others so wouldn’t surprise me.
But if Taylor Tatum does commit then that’ll soften Edwards’ departure for sure.
That would be great for Michigan but I don't think it would be good for them. Running backs have a limited career. The wear and tear is unavoidable and they only have to lose a little quickness/agility/ability to make extreme cuts and they can't perform well enough to stay in the league. They can't use too many of their carries in college.
Yeah 2024 is going to be rough, that’s for sure. I mean we all remember that disastrous 2021 campaign where we had a new rookie DC, our award-winning OC left and what talent was left looked pretty ugly. Man what a debacle that year turned out to be.
Meh. I think theyll still be pretty good. Harbaugh got these boys humming.
It's important to note that while Michigan is going to lose a lot of guys to the NFL, they're also going to be a top destination for top transfer portal guys. And their 2021 and 2022 classes (which were both really good) will be veteran by that point.
Maybe they aren't championship quality but I think at a minimum they'll be a 9-3 or 10-2 quality team

Curious about why “no sacred cows” is controversial. The sentiment is important, if not the term itself.
Yea I didn't see it as a negative thing. He is saying nobody in the program is sacred
Sacred cows make the best hamburgers
Offensive to Hindus.
Everything is offensive to someone.
Who are you calling "someone"?
Is it though?
I suspect that's what they were referencing.
I’m guessing as it relates to Bo, old heads.
At about the 13-minute mark, Jim answers a muffled question about getting Blake and Donovan enough touches. Then he goes on to talk about being really intentional and tracking game by game all of the touches, targets, and plays (think Orji) of all of the great playmakers we have on offense. It sounds like in JJ's second year leading the offense, there will be less of a concern about freshman QB mistakes and the plan is to really diversify our offensive attack.
Music to my ears. Now I'm really getting excited about this upcoming season.
2 months until fall camp. 3 months until the first game.
Let's Freaking Go!!!
(Edited for grammar. I was super tired when I posted earlier today, running on < 3 hrs of sleep. When I reread my post one of my sentences was incoherent, and I hadn't even been drinking.)
Oops meant as a reply above...

Bert looks like he just took a huge bong toke lol
He looks like John Candy after eating the Old 96er
What I loved about this informal session with reporters:
- every question was listened to with intent
- every answer was a well thought out balance between the story his team, staff, and the public wanted to know.
- everything he said was rooted in his genuine beliefs about what was real and true
not Coach speak, not condescension, no false facing the media and, thus, the public.
I don’t think he could do that in the NFL and that’s part of what keeps him here at Michigan.
You think he could replicate the fun he’s having now at the NFL level with a culture like this, I doubt it.
One of the most notable changes in the last couple of years (outside of the wins on the field) is Harbaugh's demeanor. From 2017-2020, all of his interviews sounded like what brain fog feels like. He seems so much more positive and sharp in his interviews now, I just don't know if it's a result of finally winning or if we're winning because of the switch in demeanor.
Either way, I'm here for it!
He and I are so tight that I call him, "Jimmy Hat."
