Classless Ohio State Fan

Submitted by Adrian on
This weekend I drove to North Carolina for a business meeting and passing through Ohio something interesting happened. My car has a huge Michigan decal on the back window and going through Ohio some Ohio state fan threw a glass bottle at my window. He missed but this was still a huge shock to me. I was pissed and wanted to get back but then decided to just pull up next to him and just gave him a thumbs up sign. Then as I passed him an undercover cop pulled him over and told me on the radio to pull over too. I didnt stick around to find out what happened to him since I was on a tight schedule but this incident really shocked me.

Did you just keep going or did you stop to talk to the officer and then leave? Seriously, I would be worried that an Ohio cop would ticket me for causing the other guy to throw the bottle.

A few years back I actually had to make monthly visits to one of our manufacturing facilities that was south of CBus 30 minutes. One trip was during the time as the shootings on the belt line, maybe I-270? Anyway I remember being so paranoid about driving an M plate through that state and around the CBus area that I actually rented a car for two days that had some random state license plate. I still think it was the right decision.

You hear stories like that but never think it will happen to you and then it does. I've heard a lot of stories about those kind of things happening. On the flip side has anyone seen or heard of a Michigan fan doing that to an opposing fan? I have one that I enjoy reminiscing about from time to time. While walking to the Big House for the Michigan Notre Dame game in 2003 my sister and I happened to walk by a frat house. There was a group of Notre Dame fans walking in front of us and while passing the frat's front yard a guy grabbed the hose and sprayed them. The Notre Dame fans confronted him but his back was covered by many of the people in the front yard. He once again sprayed them and said something I will never forger, "GO BLUE OR GO HOME". Good times.

Thats pretty funny. Aside from them getting wet nothing too bad happened but this was close to costing me a couple hundred to replace a window

I once heard a Michigan fan make a clever aside once to an opposing fan. Really. This opposing fan was walking by this Michigan fan's house after Michigan had just defeated his (the opposing fan's) team handily, and the Michigan fan, without warning or anything, called out a clever, witty comment that was totally germane and insightful to the current situations of both teams, while still giving respectful deference to past victories of the current fallen and the likelihood of the same in the future, while also being short and memorable and making good use of metaphor. I bet that opposing fan felt pretty awful afterward, having his (0-3) team so thoroughly yet tactfully and succinctly shown its inferiority through use of high rhetoric. I bet next time he'll think twice about supporting his team in our city now that he knows someone may say something so utterly irrefutable and funny that he has no choice but to laugh and agree, thus minimizing his (the opposing fan's) true loyalty to his team.

I'm just wondering why you have a huge Michigan decal on your back window. I generally feel that if someone had the same decal in Ann Arbor that they would have a similar experience... especially if Tater was in town.

I have a magnetic M decal on the back of my car, but since I work in C-bus I take it off during the week and put it back on during the weekend. Everytime I have left it on my car I come back to find it gone. Really annoying actually.

It was only after spending my hard earned coin on a fabulous MGoBlue magnet and waiting till after the 4 hour drive home from AA that I found out the hatch on my Suburban is aluminum [great for weight reduction, bad for sticking magnets]...so I have this massive magnet stuck to my fridge...now my kids insist that the cheer is not "Go Blue!" but "M Go Blue!" as per the ever present fridge magnet [have you ever tried to disuade a five year old from something they already know...]
