Citrus Bowl visitor's thread

Submitted by emozilla on

Flying out of DTW tomorrow afternoon to Orlando to witness Michigan's tenth win of the season! We're going to Mass at 4 pm (Friday is a Holy Day of Obligation!) but of course like good Catholics we're heading straight to the bar after. Wondering if any locals can recommend a place, or perhaps if there's enough interest we can all congregate somewhere to watch the CFP games. I remember before the Sugar Bowl we had a pretty good watch party somewhere.

Any suggestions on places to visit and things to do in Orlando (with an emphasis on good bars, naturally)  are welcome. Go Blue!

Driving up for the game on Friday, since I live about 90 miles south of Orlando. I'm really excited for the game, as it will be my son's first football game. Edit: I forgot to add that I'm not really familiar with that area, so I couldn't really offer any suggestions.

from Tampa Bay for my son's first game too! We make it out to Orlando a few times a year for family-friendly stuff, and make sure to grab a pizza from Giordano's every time. If you're near the Lake Buena Vista area, there are three locations. It's not going to be 100% of the downtown Chicago experience, but it'll be as close as you can get... The best pizza in Florida comes from Chicago!

You should probably head straight from St. Elmo's Church of the Xtra Spicy Virgin Bloody Mary to the golf course with the mega-gator. We won't miss you..

Landing in Orlando at 11PM tomorrow and going straight to the NYE festivities at Nona's Tap Room.

From there, doing the Alumni Tailgate; anybody have any leads on ONE more ticket for it?

Oh, by the way, if any serious Oberon fans are interested, it is sold year round down here. There is even a gas station at the corner of Central Florida Parkway and International Drive South that sells 4 pack cans. Obviously Total Wine has it too. I only mention that because it seems to be a big deal when it gets released up north.

Owned by fellow '89 MBA grad and roommate along with golfer Graham McDowell. If you can't get in the Nona Tap Room is across the street. Both are just east of the airport.

Anybody have experience with paid parking downtown and taking the free shuttle to the stadium? I want to do this but afraid the parking lots downtown will be full. I can't get to Orlando any earlier than 1130ish.

Never been to one of these things. It's a good time, seeing Michigan fans all over the Hyatt Regency. Looking forward to kickoff lunch & pep rally today. The latter is free & open to the public. It's at the I-Drive 360 entertainment center at 2:30 pm.

PSA: It's President Schlissel's first bowl game EVER

I bought two tickets in Section P46 from the Athletic Dept., but a third family member just decided that he wanted to come along... So I'm looking for three tickets together anywhere (or just one in P46, close to Row G). Can anyone help??
